Women Of The Bible- LOT'S WIFE
Her choice led to judgement rather than mercy as God had attempted to save her. The choice is with us.
Everything in Sodom was engulfed, along with that of whom's eyes looked back as the city burned to turn into a salt pillar.
Why Lot's wife turned back we may not know, but we can only guess. This story, very short, yet powerful. Jesus said, "It will be just like this on the day the Son of Man is revealed".

The Question
Will you proceed to go as you are told, or will you look back at what you are leaving behind or just to see what happens? Will you trust or will you hesitate?
Tumblr media
Questions
Why does the father say you may lay with my daughters for they have not laid with a man, but you many not lay with the men (who were angels)?

WOMEN OF THE BIBLE - HAGAR
Fugitive or Immigrant
Punished for letting her pride take over. Heard God amidst her suffering. Had a son who was to become a father of a great nation!
Hagar was a servant for Sarah and Abraham. When Sarah could not bear children, Hagar was asked to bear one for Abraham by Sarah and Abraham. She had to also become a wife if she were to have his child. Hagar had too much pride once she was married to Abraham and carrying his child. This cause tension between Sarah and Hagar.
Hagar tried to escape from her misery with Sarah until she heard a voice that told her she must return. The voice also spoke of a boy she would give birth to and name Ishmael. So Hagar listened and returned.
ISHMAEL means "God who hears".
Forced to leave sixteen years later, Hagar and her son traveled to the dessert again and were suffering from thirst until God came in to give sight to a well and helped them make a way for themselves in the dessert.
What can I learn from all of this?
God is faithful. He hears us in our misery. He knows all of our sufferings. Have patience for he will see you through your lowest points as he has something better waiting for you in the future. Everything is part of his story and what he wants people to see. Everything is leading us to our final destination.

Chinese Proverb
"Tell me I forget, Show me and I remember, Involve me and I understand."
I feel this is a good quote for what we experience in our walk with God.

God's Plan
Be patient, and trust in the Lord's plan for you. Wait with a listening ear and a ready heart to do his will. God will find a way to make the path clear when he is ready for you to see your next move. Pray to be prepared and ready when he calls for your next move. Pray to be patient when in doubt of his promises. Pray to understand his Power and love to not doubt Him and what he can do. He will not forget you and will see you to it.

Women of the Bible - SARAH
SARAH
Chieftainness or Princess.
Beautiful, strong-willed, and sometimes jealous.
Loyal wife to Abraham, did right.
Didn't give into fear.
Remained childless until ninety.
Had Isaac, child of the promise.
God's promise was to give her child.
Scripture: Genesis 12:1-20; 16:1-8; 17:1-22; 18:1-15; 21:1-13
                Galatians 4:22-31
Story:
Married to Abraham. God asked them to move to Canaan, and blessed Abraham's offspring this land. Abraham was to father the offspring of this land, and Sarah would surely be mother to those. Yet, she had not had a child of her own and was already reaching the old age.
A famine came across Canaan and the two moved to Egypt. In Egypt, the pharaoh found Sarai to be beautiful and wanted to take her in as his with the other women. Abraham knew this was going to happen and made a plan to only be announced as Sarai's brother so he would not be killed.
QUESTION
[I do not understand the reason for the lie behind this, read Genesis 12:1-20 and help me understand this] I know why he lied, but why must one move to Egypt of all places knowing the risk and knowing they will have to hide who they really are. Why did a famine come across the land God blessed Abraham with?
Why did God spread famine over Egypt when it was Abraham's decision to go and lie?
Why was Sarai changed to Sarah? (Like Saul changed to Paul later down the road.)
We are children of the free woman? and not the slave woman?
STORY CONTINUED
God did not like what had come of Sarai and spread famine over the people in Egypt. The pharaoh heard the truth of all this and sent Sarai and her husband Abraham back out of Egypt along with all of their belongings that  they gained in Egypt.
The two returned to their land. Sarai still did not become pregnant and decided to give her husband permission to sleep with their Egyptian maid to have child, as they did this in these days. Therefore; Hagar, the Egyptian maid, gave birth to Abraham first son (Ishmael). When Ishmael was born, he brought tension between the two women.
Shortly after this. The Lord called out to Abraham and said that his wife would have a baby about this time next year. Sarai laughed, for she was of old age and surely was surprised that now of all years she would have a child.
She named her child Isaac (meaning laughter) when he came a year later, for the Lord brought her laughter through this blessing) at ninety years old. Shortly later, Sarai sent Hagar and Ishmael on their way because of the disturbance they were creating. God told Abraham that this was right and God watched out for Hagar and Ishmael in the desert for Ishmael was child of Abraham and God blessed the nation that was to come through Abraham.
God asked for Sarai to become Sarah.
WHAT CAN WE LEARN FROM THIS
A) Learn about God' Promises; Do not doubt his power or ability to keep his promises. Trust God.
B) If God ask you to move, have faith in his plan. His plans for you are greater than anything you can imagine or plan for yourself.
C) God's plans will unfold for you in his time and according to his way. Be patient. Sarai didn't believe that she would have a baby in old age and knew God had blessed them to father and mother a nation in Canaan. She had someone else bear child by Abraham and ended up bearing child shortly after, for God never breaks his promises.
