i think there's something to be said about transmisogynistic crowing about how trans women don't "look like women" (whatever that means) or are "normalizing" things like facial hair, square faces, whatever, when so many trans women i see taking selfies look like women (cis or trans) that i encounter irl at the grocery store, the movies, the mall, the library, etc while my social media feed is full of tiktoks of women who "look like real women" under these guidelines literally look like cartoons under 10 layers of filters, edit their bodies to impossible proportions, have had injections surgical procedures and wear full coverage makeup, lash extensions, etc so they can have their appearance tolerated online and not be brutally harassed for being "ugly." it's almost as if the idea that women can look a wide variety of ways without being denigrated is a positive thing for women and society. maybe
