who is this for?

i didnt want to lose my narrative and who this is for, the work produced for this project is to bring light  societies standards for people of colour. 

it depicts thoughts, feelings and expressionist views on palatable culture and in turn cultural capital. 

utilising young people of colour, to really represent a diverse community and tell both sides of the social/ cultural narrative within todays political climate.

SOCIAL MEDIA AND FEATURES

the instagram  account has been interesting and the scope received more so 

i am going to be exhibiting my work produced for this project with the DBG in Manchester later this month (may) 

usually i do not like to post work or bodies of work on social media but this really has opened my eyes as it has really navigated a narrative within the community and as young creatives we have pushed each others performance. in addition through this i have also networked a fair amount and gained more contacts to work with , for and to be published with locally. 

supporting the work of others has also been a main focal point for this account and supporting young creatives of colour.

i wanted to look at some expressionist styles to add an exhibitionist vibe to my look book mainly to symbolise the idea of capital and the wealth of culture within society. 

more so with the manipulative styles of artwork , they really do fit in with the aesthetic and motion of my film

BASQUIAT - 

an inspiration in general but when in conversation regarding culture society and art basquiat is a rather large influence for my publication 

at first i did want a rather simple aesthetic for my publication but lending it with expressionist art works and poetry is more fitting to who and what should be immersed in such activities 

there is depth and value in art - in culture and bringing individuals together than no amount of money can physically buy, 

i love the original short / words/ poetry in the boom for real exhibit which inspired some of the style i wanted to try

i wanted to uphold my publication as more than just an ‘editorial’ not just for an aesthetic but also something more meaningful and interpretive.

so by being more visually stimulating to society are you pleasing them or beating them?

i wanted to add 3d motion graphics and synth aesthetics to fit with my 80′s theme 

i knew it was going to be slightly time consuming however, i wanted the aesthetic 

most of what i will do within the film is going to be using ultra key settings in order to get the visuals i want anyway 

might as well go all in
