Couple things: it’s been a while since I played the games, so I might have got details wrong, though I did try to look things up. I tried to look up unique features for FFIV, and found Augmentation? But I think that’s a new feature from a newer release rather than the ps1 version that I played. I never played Zodiac Age, so I don’t know what got improved in FFXII. I… feel a bit uncertain about VI, because it does seem similar to VII and VIII, tho I’m sure there’s some differences too. I know X2’s dress spheres is an updated version of V’s job class, but I like that X2 you can change mid-battle, whereas you can’t for V.
This is probably a strange poll, and I’m sure there are other unique features that I haven’t included, but I like that Final Fantasy games do try different approaches, even if it is just renaming it.
Hopefully it makes sense? Maybe gameplay would have been the better word, but that would mean ATB (or not) to me, or maybe mechanics? But it was fun to think about!
