    Hello my darlings, 

    I have a few updates for you. Our lovely mun Alyssa has decided to take a step back from tumblr, and it has been decided that some of her muses will be going back into the opens while others are going to NPCed by myself. Those that are going to be NPCed are: Romani, Liam, Novis, and Phoenix. Sam, Katya and Isaiah are going to be put back into the open. Should she ever decide to return, I will happily hand the control of the characters I NPC back to her. 

   Another is that the mun Joey seems to have left us, turning their Seth blog into someone else. Please unfollow that blog now. On a related note, Seth will NOT being going into the opens. It has been the decision of the admins to remove him from play completely. Seth will no longer be a part of Haven and the position of manager of Asylum will fall to Alacard. 

     The new open muses will be in the open tag sortly.

PERSONALITY:

Achilles can be described as a smart ass. He always has a witty or sarcastic remark to nearly every situation, whether it be serious or not. When it comes to the people he trusts, Achilles is loyal and ruthless. He is a strong fighter when he needs to be and tries to rely more on his physical abilities more so than his magical abilities as much as possible. He is very active, often spending much of his free time when he's not with his family doing some sort of physical activity and takes great pleasure in being one with nature so he can clear his head before the next vision comes in.

Despite his gift, Achilles has always been very intuitive and insightful when it comes to the ways of the world and before meeting Lovi he enjoyed traveling.  He still sometimes has trouble staying in one place for too long but Haven has been good to them so they seem to have finally found a place worth planting their roots. He is protective of both Lovi and Nari, constantly keeping an eye on them to make sure they are doing alright. He can be very loving, compassionate and loyal but on the flip side he can also be very immature, often pulling childish pranks for a laugh. Despite everything, he loves with all of his heart and would do anything for those he cares about.

PAST:

Achilles, born in November of 1934, was raised in the Hornsby section of Sydney, Australia and was the only child of John and Edith Mauvais. His mother was a witch and part of the Coventry family, while he father was a human who accepted the presence of the supernatural. Achilles had a somewhat normal childhood, his parents being forever doting on their only child, but he was often restless and wanted to be outside exploring the Australian wilderness. When he wasn't at home you could often find him outside with the wildlife or at the farm down the road riding horses. He was always an active boy, never sitting still for even so much as to eat dinner before he was up and at it again.

Achilles was 7 when he was hit with his first vision, one that predicted the death of his father. He sat, sobbing in the kitchen, explaining to his mother what had happened. The call from his father’s workplace came 2 hours later, confirming what Achilles had seen. This caused Achilles to have a large sense of guilt, believing he could have done more. His mother, wanting him to learn to control his power, sent him to a school in New Zealand that many Coventrys had gone to before. There Achilles learned to control his gift and when he was old enough to leave, he went to visit his mother before taking off to see the world. 

It was in the year 1992 that he met his soulmate while wandering through Seoul, Korea. She was a beautiful Korean witch by the name of Lovi Yo and he knew the second he met her that she was his and that he would spend the rest of his eternity with her. Surprisingly, it didn't take much to get Lovi to go out with him since she felt the pull as well and after a few months of courting they became a proper couple and then it took just a few more months to plan their wedding. They stayed in Korea for shout a year getting to know each other before deciding to leave.

Achilles got a call from his cousin, Luke, about a small town called Haven, a safe spot for the supernatural. For a while, Lovi and Achilles continued traveling, not really thinking about settling down until Lovi found out she was pregnant. It was then that the two decided that a little town made for the supernatural was just what they needed. Their daughter Nari was born there, and the little family couldn’t be happier.

Normally, Lovi can be described as being very shy and quiet, preferring to watch and listen rather than speak. However, she is also fiercely protective of those that are dear to her, not caring what she has to do in order to keep them safe. Due to her ability to read and manipulate emotions, she can be an overly emotional person at times, either by her own emotions or by those around her. Lovi does attempt and make sure to use her powers for good, not usually one to use bad emotions on someone. Though normally a very calm and collected person, she can lose her temper and isn’t afraid to use her skills in hand to hand combat if the need arises. She does have an issue with being possessive and jealous when it comes to the people that she cares about, in particular Achilles and Nari, often keeping an eye on them to make sure they are safe and well taken care of. Once someone has earned Lovi’s trust, she gives that trust completely. 

PAST:

Lovi was born and raised in Seoul, Korea as  the only child of Kim Joon Yo, a Tae Kwon Do instructor and warlock, and Gi Yoona Yo, a homemaker and witch. Growing up in Korea wasn't easy for Lovi, many men in the country felt that a woman's place was in the home while she felt the need for independence. She was trained from a young age in Tae Kwon Do by her father because he felt that she would need it to be able to defend herself when she went out on her own. Her mother taught her everything she knew about magic and how to tap into her gifts, something that came naturally for her.

Lovi was a late bloomer when it came to finding her specialized power, a freshman in college at Nwha Woman's University. She was studying with a friend and felt overwhelmed by emotions that weren't hers. She wasn't sure what was going on at first until a visit home with her mother confirmed her suspicion that she was an empath. Lovi trained more with her mother while working toward her degree in prenatal care and by the time she graduated, Lovi had full control of her gift which came in handy when she got a job at Cha General Hospital in the Gagnam section of Seoul. 

Shortly after her 28th birthday, Lovi met a man by the name of Achilles Mauvais, a warlock traveling in Korea. She'd like to say she didn't fall for him the day she met him but that would be a lie. Instead of just jumping into things though, she convinced Achilles to stay in Seoul for a while to get to know each other after after a few months of courting they became an official couple, and a few months after that they were married. Both Achilles and Lovi grew restless of Seoul, however, and with the permission of her parents they left Korea to travel the world together. 

In January 2000, Lovi found out she was pregnant with their daughter, who they named Nari, and the need to find somewhere to settle down and plant some roots was strong. After getting the call from Luke, Achilles’s cousin, about their safe haven in California, the couple decided to make their way over to settle down. Like Achilles, Lovi was shocked by how peaceful the town full of supernaturals was and for an empath that was paradise. Once Nari was born, the couple decided to make Haven their permanent home. Lovi currently works as the OBGYN at Haven a General Hospital along with working as a midwife for those that don’t want to give birth in the hospital. Her powers also help her to be able to tell what a child’s power is going to be while in the womb, something that allows the parents some foresight into what their child is going to be capable of.

Ciro is unpredictable, dangerous, wicked, cheeky, mischievous, somewhat unreasonable and cocky to a fault. He can quickly go from being a respectful gentleman to direct and aggressive within seconds. He can be condescending at times and often patronizes his siblings by challenging them with snark and contempt, especially Vladimir and Akasha, demonstrating his clear lack of respect. He enjoys breaking the rules and is naturally defiant, often being called the wildest of the Gotti siblings. Ciro comes off a playboy and hedonist, taking great pleasure in his vampire nature.Ciro’s vindictiveness is one of his defining characteristics and like his brother, Vladimir, he does not hesitate to get retribution on those that cause harm. Ciro does not forgive easily, though he may pretend to in order to further his goals of vengeance.

Ciro finds childlike enjoyment in acts of violence, often comparing them to games like hide and seek despite being told to take a situation seriously. He can be a bit sadistic as well but despite his flaws he truly cares for his family. However, Ciro always felt excluded and isolated by his siblings, making him feel invisible to them. His extremely violent and aggressive antics are a result of wanting attention from his siblings. He can be very charming when he wants to be, often using it to his advantage to engage in sexual encounters with men and women over the years. Despite feeling like he is invisible to his siblings, he is still extremely loyal to his family and those he trusts. He is very knowledgeable, contrary to popular belief, about the world around him and he has a strong respect for witches and warlocks.

PAST:

Ciro, like his siblings, was born to Stefan and Amara Gotti just outside of Rome in October, 969 years before Christ. He is the second youngest of four siblings and by far the most out of control and childish. Their mother, Amara, was very affectionate toward himself and Akasha, much to the distaste of his older siblings, and he hated her for it because a mother is supposed to love all of her children equally. His father showed both himself and Akasha favor over their older brother Vlad, who Stefan abused, and this caused a hate towards his father in Ciro as well. 

When Ciro was 22, one of the first vampires in existence ran rampant in the village his family lived in and killed nearly everyone, turning a few he felt were worthy. The vampire, whose name he and his siblings never learned, saw potential in the four Gotti siblings and after killing their parents he turned them. After they arose from their graves as vampires, their master taught them everything they know about being a vampire and stayed with them for nearly a hundred years before releasing them into the world alone and without a master. Ciro and is siblings traveled to the nearby city of Rome when they were controlled enough to settle down but Ciro grew restless staying in one spot for long periods of time. He set out on his own to travel the world, many of his actions while he was out on his own were the makings of many vampire legends that painted them as ruthless and heartless killers but to Ciro he was just blowing off steam and having fun.

He returned back to Rome a few times over the years but spent most of his time away, befriending witches and warlocks around the world due to his interest in magic. They helped him learn his vampire ability to control the element of Air and in return he made a promise to never attack but protect their kind in the future. He grew to respect them as a whole for helping him. It was here that Ciro met and became good friends with the witch named Lyra, a fellow mischievous soul. When he returned to Rome to settle down for good, he lived with his family for nearly 150 years before people started getting suspicious around the beginning of World War 2 and they fled to try to find a as place for them where humans would never find them and figure out what they were. Meeting the others and establishing Haven was probably one of the best decisions they ever made.

Currently Ciro owns and runs Fangs, the vampire restaurant and bar in Haven, and enjoys the atmosphere of his establishment and town as a whole even though he sometimes grows restless and bored. He still feels excluded by his siblings but he has been trying to find ways to get their attention without causing a massacre like he usually does due to the rules he and his siblings set forth with the others when they established the town. For now he is just enjoying his time at his bar and restaurant while he plots.

PERSONALITY:

Outwardly, Roman can come off as your typical jerk, often being too cocky and loud, this being a cover for the way that he tends to feel about himself. However, once you earned his trust, he can be loyal and kind and exhibits a genuine desire to be a good person. Overall, Roman is a good person, though highly conflicted with parts of his vampire nature. Roman tries hard initially to avoid hunting or feeding off the living. Unfortunately, at the same time he has trouble succumbing to his more monstrous side, causing self loathing when he makes mistakes in feeding and harms someone. Roman struggles at times to hold onto his humanity and kindness, and can often find himself giving in to his inner monster by choosing to be more vicious and cruel as a means to an end. His brother and maker are literally the only two people keeping him sane and from going completely off the reservation.

PAST:

Roman Dex was born on April 9, 1860 just outside of Stockholm, Sweden to Gosta, a blacksmith, and Camilla, a seamstress, and was the youngest of two sons. With their parents often busy with their work, Roman and his older brother, Ronan were often left to only having the other as company. This cemented the close bond that the two would carry into adulthood and beyond. 

When Roman was a child, a plague befell upon their village and his parents died leaving Roman if the care of his older brother. Things were tough for the brothers at first, adjusting to their new life and the fact that they were the only family either had left. When Roman was old enough to leave, he and his brother traveled the world in search of a new place to call home. It was in Rome that they met the Gotti family.

Unlike his brother, Roman took an instant liking to the Gotti siblings, looking up to Vladimir like a father figure. When Vladimir offered to turn Ronan and his brother, Roman was immediately for the idea despite his brothers hesitance. Eventually he convinced his brother and they were turned. When the Gotti family left Rome, the Dex brothers joined them in hopes of finding a place with them where they're could be themselves without fear of humans realizing what they are and ostracizing them.

When he is not working he can be found at the bar at Fangs drinking or at home tinkering with any bit of tech that he could get his hands on. He and his brother live together in a small house in Founders Circle.

Being a calm and methodical individual, Ronan is mostly in control of his emotions. He rarely loses his temper, but has shown a great capacity for violence when pushed. Ronan is unconcerned about being viewed as "the bad guy" merely seeing his actions as a means to an end. He is often secretive and can be somewhat of a trickster, but is honest and direct. Behind his mask, He is gentle and sweet towards certain people and is even disturbed by the horrible things he has done when he thinks back on them.  He can be very cool and calculating to most, though he has a great sense of loyalty when it comes to his maker, his brother and his maker’s family. While most people see him as a tough guy, he is also strongly emotional, and they can get the better of him at times. 

PAST:

Ronan Dex was born on May 5, 1849 just outside of Stockholm, Sweden to Gosta, a blacksmith, and Camilla, a seamstress, and was the oldest of two sons. With their parents often busy with their work, Roman and his older brother, Ronan were often left to only having the other as company. This cemented the close bond that the two would carry into adulthood and beyond.

When Ronan was 22 years old, a plague befell upon their village and his parents died leaving Ronan to care for his younger brother. Things were tough for the brothers at first, adjusting to their new life and the fact that they were the only family either had left. When Roman was old enough to leave, Ronan and his brother traveled the world in search of a new place to call home that didn't hold so many horrible memories. It was in Rome that they met the Gotti family.

Ronan wasn't sure what to make of the Gotti family at first but he took a liking to Vladimir and the two became close friends, the Elder Dex even going as far as to say he looked up to him. When Vladimir offered to turn Ronan and his brother, he was hesitant at first. However, upon seeing how excited his younger brother was over the prospect of being a vampire he agreed and Vladimir turned the two brothers and made them a part of his family. When the Gotti family left Rome, the Dex brothers joined them in hopes of finding a place with them where they're could be themselves without fear of humans realizing what they are and ostracizing them. Along the way the Gottis met Luke Coventry and despite his cold demeanor, Ronan too a liking to him a he found his knowledge about things he had yet to learn about intriguing. He considers themselves friendly acquaintances but hopes to one day consider him a friend.

Currently Ronan works as the manager of Haven Gas and Stop. In his spare time he can be found drawing, painting or building things with his hands. He and his brother live together in a small house in Founders Circle.

Nari is usually a very happy and upbeat girl but tends to be a bit self-conscious sometimes when it comes to what others think of her. She doesn't take well to negative criticism and will often become emotional when someone speaks badly of her. She is a very talented singer and loves to bake, learning from Evangeline while working for her. She has a love for nature and being outdoors, much like her father, and can usually be found with the horses or somewhere outside when she isn't working or going to school. She is also very active, loving to always be on the move no matter what and tends to be a bit fidgety when she is stuck in one place for too long. She loves to explore, finding new and untouched places in her surroundings. She is a worrier, though, and often worries about what other people think of her and about disappointing her parents. Otherwise she is a very loving, sweet and compassionate girl who is friendly with nearly everyone.

PAST:

Nari was born and raised in Haven, California on March 2nd of the year 2000. Her parents, Achilles Mauvais and Lovi Yo, moved to the small supernatural safe haven when Lovi was pregnant with her after her father's cousin, Luke Coventry, told him of the fortress that he and a few friends set up many years ago. She is the daughter of a witch and warlock  and has spent her entire life growing up around every kind living in the small town of Haven. She was taught from a young age by her parents how to defend herself physically and the basics of magic until she could determine what her specialty is. As of today, she still isn't sure what gift she possesses but her mother didn't find hers until much later in life so she's not too worried.

Nari met Lily Colt, a human, when she started school at Haven’s Academy and they became fast friends. She thinks of the two daughters of the founding families as her best friends and is often seen with one if not the other.

Currently Nari is attending Haven’s Academy and is in her junior year of schooling. She is trying the best she can to tap into her magic so that she can finally find her specialty while learning all that she can learn while attending school. As said before she works part time at Evangeline's bakery and she's not there she can be found either with her two best friends, exploring Haven or at Gotti Music. Lyra is known for being wild and unpredictable. It’s been a part of her nature since she was a young child, which lead to her parents shipping her off to other family members. She has slight abandonment issues, causing her to become attached to those that she finds herself close to. Her powers make her sometimes come off as a know it all, giving her the ability to shoot off any information that she has pertaining to that situation. However, she is loyal to a fault to those who have earned it and will do anything in her power to keep those people safe. She refuses to just give up on people, mainly due to the fact that she does feel as though her own parents just gave up on her when she was a child.

PAST:  

Born in France in 993, Lyra was born to the heads of a powerful magical family. Both sides went back for centuries, connected to some of the first known witches and warlocks. It was of no surprise that she was quick to display magical abilities at a young age. Nor was it overly surprising that the magic could very quickly get out of her control. Lyra’s mother and father forced her into a strict studying schedule from the age of 4, until she was 16. As Lyra grew older, the strict rules of her parents seemed to create a wild streak in her, which often got her into a great deal of trouble with those in their coven, and even a few of the local townsfolk that she would come across. By the time she was 16, she was on a ship to England, being sent to family in the other country in the hopes that they could get her restlessness under control.

However, not long after settling into the new territory, her restless streak returned, until she learned of the magic there. Now, among the many practitioners of various other magics, Lyra had the ability to branch out into sections of magic that her parents, or anyone in her coven, had ever thought to do. And for a time, this was enough to tame her unrest. She was a quick study of anything and everything she could get her hands on, and with everything she learned, her power only grew. A sign of the long line she descended from. As she grew it became more and more apparent that she had a knack for learning about any magic that she came across and being able retain the information on any magic she couldn’t use. After some research, Lyra found out that she was known as an Archive, a witch or warlock with the ability to know unlimited amounts of knowledge and recite any of it at will.

By now, Lyra had grown into a beautiful young woman, with plenty of suitors calling on her at all hours of the day. She enjoyed the attention for the most part, but found the constant talk of her future with a husband and children to be wildly boring, often causing her to send suitors away, telling them to never return. Much to her family’s dismay, this continued until one Evan Carmichael made his presence known. Evan was a charming young man and a wealthy merchant, who had come into the land in the hopes of setting up more trade. As he began courting Lyra, she found herself smitten with him more and more as the days passed, and when he finally asked for her hand, she was thrilled when her father agreed. Not long after they were married, Lyra learned that, much like herself, Evan wasn’t human. He was a fae, having taken the human world as his home after some trouble in the Fae Realm.

The two were happy for many years, having decided to halt their aging to spend eternity together. Everything was peaceful, until one night a group of men attacked Evan while he was on his way home. The trouble from his home realm had caught up with him, he’d angered a member of the Seelie court before fleeing to the human world. The other fae and a few allies had come to the human world in order to find Evan and kill him. By the time he was found in the morning, he’d long since passed, leaving Lyra alone. This broke her heart, and for many years, Lyra was inconsolable. She did her best to carry on, turning down multiple suitors over the years. She traveled for some time, eventually making her way back to Rome in 1930, where she met Ciro Gotti and his family. The two hit if off well, and for a while she remained around, growing close to the family. When they left the country due to the war, Lyra headed out about the same time.

For a time, she went out and about once more, even going back to France. This turned out to be a poor idea when she ran into her family once more. After the less then pleasant reunion with her family, Lyra left Europe all together, making her way to the small community for the supernatural in California where her friends had set up their lives.  Lyra still manages her late husband’s company, though usually from afar. She works in the magic shop as the Charms Expert.
