THANKFUL
Feeling very thankful. Blessings, I do count. They've overtaken me Spilling over, they abound. Because my Savior loves me, There is no other reason. And I see more blessing coming. It's my blessing season. Oh, how good He is to me, To come in this room - And touch my life with His, Until the day blooms. So I offer up thanks, And I lift up holy hands. As I fall on my knees, For He helped to stand! Love, By Linda Sunshine &Sweetie Pies

ONE HOUR
I HAVE one hour to lay down and pray. To rest a bit before I start my day. To recall all my blessings that I have received. To bless all my family with what they need. Love, By Linda... Sunshine & Sweetie Pies

AFTER DINNER
I'm resting my eyes, Said my Dad from his chair, But then a small snore Would escape from somewhere. The T.V. was playing On his favorite show, But we all knew better Than to change it, even - so - slow. The longer he slept, His mouth opened more, And we giggled at the thought Of pitching candy into a snore. But the funny papers have to do, Till his eyes have "rested" enough. And Daddy comes back from Where he went, that he loved. Love, By Linda... Sunshine & Sweetie Pies

SLEEPING BEAUTY
Is this a sleeping beauty? This daddy of mine. When he shuts his peepers Then I can shut mine. He eats like a baby bird, He likes to tell jokes. He's mischievous - even when sickly, And likes to rock the boat. He cracks me up at night When he thinks I am asleep. And a tiny little cuss word, Escapes right past his teeth. He's told the nurses, his war stories That made their hearts stand still. They didn't want him to stop, They couldn't get their fill. It seems like yesterday That he came home from work, And sat down at the table In a previously clean shirt. When our dates came to the door. He seemed imposing to them all. And we raced into the world, While he grew older behind his walls. So hold those working hands softly As they soak up all your love. They remember all the good years And try to forget all the bad stuff. They never have been perfect. Though they wish they could have been. As they now lay in the bed, Holding your heart in fingers, bent. Love, By Linda... Sunshine & Sweetie Pies

THE GOLDEN RULE
HOW DEEP does it go? How much does it do? The love that you feel, That you have inside you? Does it go beyond it's borders? Does it readily flow? Does it bubble up within you? From deep in your soul? Can you spend it on someone? Can you shower it on them? Can you forget about you? To do service as you bend? Will someone see your love? And be inspired to go too? To the place of a servant? To do the Golden Rule? To give up your time? To give up your needs? To give up your wants? To sow this valuable seed? At the end of your life? Will someone give the same? That you gave yourself? In Love's Holy Name? Love, By Linda... Sunshine & Sweetie Pies 1 Cor.13"4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

RIGHT ON CUE
SO here we are, One day removed. From a funeral for Daddy That came right on cue. "We" never knew The day nor the hour, That he was going home That it was to be - now -. So keep the watch-pot boiling Stay at the ready, For we never know And neither did Daddy. That an angel will come With a close family member, To take us to Glory January through December. We all have an appointment That will not be denied, When we'll be taking off So get ready to fly. Get your affairs in order- And keep em that way, So that when this life is over We'll be ready to get away... Love, By Linda... Sunshine & Sweetie Pies

HELLO MORNING
HELLO beautiful morning That makes the roses bloom. And the kisses of the dew, Brings the fragrance to my room. Though it was dark last night It didn't stay that way, And I could see the dawn Breaking though to bring the day. Love, By Linda... Sunshine & Sweetie Pies

ONE TINY CHOICE
JUST sitting in the dark Drinking my cold coffee, Turning over thoughts It's quiet and it's just me. My Dad has gone away After a long and fruitful life, And now I take some time To think of wrongs and rights. He made one tiny choice That set all this in motion, To lead him down the road That he might not have chosen. One tiny - little - choice Is sometimes all - it - takes, To take you on a journey That might end in a mistake. Our lives are so, so fragile And like a vapor disappears. So it pays to just keep ready As we walk our path down here. To live with no regrets, To keep our debts all paid. To walk an honest walk, For we're not "here" to stay. One day, when life is over, We'll be going on. And on that last glad morning, We can sing that holy song... Love, By Linda... Sunshine & Sweetie Pies

DEEPLY ROOTED
I'M DEEPLY rooted, yes I am. Nothing can shake me, no it can't. For I'm planted in a rock, yes I am. And He holds me, the Great I Am. Holy, Holy, Holy is His Name. Nothing can sway Him, no it can't. I hold to Him. He holds to me. I'm deeply rooted. Yes I am... Love, By Linda... Sunshine & Sweetie Pies

LOST & FOUND
LOOKING for good deeds In my Daddy's name, Because he can see now- It's plainer than plain. I know what he wants I know what he likes. I know that he's watching. To see if they'll fly. Their picture's on his heart. He's praying for them. And I can feel the prayer, He so wants them to win. So it's time to innovate. It's time to step up the game. I can hear Heaven cheering All in Jesus Name. For that little lost lamb That has wandered away. Whose offended all their fellows While they were at play. So Heaven, stand by. We're sending up hope. We're watching and waiting. By the well, with a rope. So that no one is neglected. So that they will come home. And we will be happy When no one lingers alone. Love, By Linda... HOMEWARD BOUND
JUST one week ago, Just one - little - week. My whole world changed And I got a peek... Through the eyes of my Dad A peek into Glory, As he was preparing To write a new story. He saw his dear Mama, He'd been waiting for years. He folded his hands And prayed a few tears. He offered to introduce us Though we could not see, As he motioned her over To sit by his knee. Her crying could be heard, My sister thought it was me. As they held each other's hands And he nodded, we could see. Others came too, Whose voices were hushed. And we knew it was soon, We sisters were touched. I will never forget, When Heaven came down. And we got to witness, When Daddy was homeward bound. Love, By Linda... Sunshine & Sweetie Pies

GUARDED
SO MUCH rain So much wind, Outside my door The trees all bend. The chimes, they play. There are whistling sounds... I pray for family Blessings to abound. I send the angels To guard our homes. To keep us safe. From all the storm. Even if We blow away, God will make Another day. Love, By Linda... Sunshine & Sweetie Pies

YOU CAN MAKE IT
SOMETIMES the way seems weary Upon which we travel slow, But there are those among us To encourage us to go. Go on, yes, you can make it. Go on, I'll walk with you. Go on, I'll hold your hand. Go on, yes, you can do.... . Look up, the Son is shining. Look up, He's here beside. He always here with you. And "that" will turn the tide... Love, By Linda... Sunshine & Sweetie Pies

THE APPOINTMENT
MY HOUSE cleaning's gone lacking. My appointments, thrown away. My schedule, interrupted. Here I am, today. The first day of "tomorrow". Gets started today. As I wash up the clothes. And vacuum weeks of lost days. It seems a bit empty. It seems a bit lost. It seems a bit misty. It seems a bit soft. But I kept "one" appointment. That took almost two months. And set everything aside. For this time bump. Me and my sister Shouldered one load. That ushered our loved one To their heavenly road. It was precious, it was sad. But it was glorious, I'd say. And I wouldn't take nothing For the blessing we got that day. Love, By Linda... Sunshine & Sweetie Pies

FORGIVE, DO GOOD, PRAY
THERE'S SOMEONE in your life, You'll know who I mean... That's very hard to take.. Even makes you want to scream. It seems that they don't care To spill words all over you, But God has some advice About what you should do... FORGIVE, DO GOOD, AND PRAY... It's the Jesus thing to do. Wasn't it His kindness That reached out to welcome you? (Plus, you'll sleep better!) Love, By Linda... Sunshine & Sweetie Pies Photographer unknown to me.

TURN THE TABLES
THE devil pays attention to... Whatever gets your goat. He probably has a file somewhere, And fills it full of notes. But when he starts to talking, And you start getting riled, It's time to turn the tables, And look in your own Bible file. He has lied from the beginning, His words are full of holes. He often starts a fight, Just to see how far you'll go. Here's just a bit of wisdom. To put to use someday. You have what it takes, To send him on his way. Read the Word, out loud, Or quote it every day. And the old scalded dog, Will turn his face and back away. So stand firm on your ground, Hold God's unchanging hand. And you will find the strength, To find the promised land. Love, By Linda... Sunshine & Sweetie Pies
