Oh No. with the loneliness of the wasteland and the intensity ellie does every emotion, platonic would also be incredibly delicious. especially with their Vast Differences on the surface and getting to know each other better, especially vincent seeing that despite elinor being the silliest little do-gooder, has a bunch of Shit she is willing to do, and why, and that reason expanding from being about getting back to saving beau to including keeping vincent safe earnestly and not just for the sake of travelling together being safe or convenient. also there's so much room for misunderstandings of the other and their motivations which i think is also very delicious, thank you for coming to my tedtalk!!

yellow, a study in wildfires, honeycombs, and summer rain. everyone sees you smiling and laughing, happy in all the ways but the way that you know is true to you. everyone believes that nothing bad could happen to you, that you live life so freely that you'd never miss a beat, even if something bad DID happen to happen around or to you. but you're as miserable as the rest of them. you might be warm and gentle, when you need to be, but at the end of the day, you have long since accepted that fire is like you: best to be admired but never touched.

things I should be doing: sleeping what im actually doing: thinking about the family dynamics in the rhodes household, how min-ah's leaving affects them, and then later how ellie's leaving for korea when he was 15 then affects dave and marley. thinking about how much like her bonus mother ellie is, without realising, and how ellie and min-ah's closeness affects marley, who made her bed and has to lie in it, sure, but some of this is out of her control. thinking about how dave loves both of his daughters so much, but when it's just the two of them in the house when ellie leaves, marley doesn't understand him or his depression and feels abandoned several times over. how marley is definitely not the best person or sister she could be to ellie, but ellie's hurt leads to misunderstandings on top of the real harm already done. thinking about how ellie and dave are able to sort through their baggage, but marley never will because she'll never admit any of her vulnerabilities, how ellie being so vocal about his own vulnerability makes marley feel backed into a corner and act out even and hurt ellie even more,

ellie slumped back, head falling back against the wall behind him, beginning to work on the buttons at fely'ene's instruction, almost on autopilot. she's good in a crisis (likely one of the reasons neyvin let's her stick around despite not being on the team proper - not that she was looking to be on the team that way). it's been a long day, and the implications of the events of the day were sinking in. just like the blood taking hold on her blouse the longer he left it. 

"i really hope this doesn't come across the wrong way," agile fingers continued working on the buttons, perhaps a little less dexterous than normal. he had done everything in his power to help, and knew that, no matter how much blood she had ended up with on her clothes and hands, a full recovery was going to be made. he was confident in that. "but this is my favourite blouse." he's tired, and the prospect of bloodstains sticking to this particular shirt was the terrible cherry on top of a terrible day.
