"It is not often I meet someone who can match my stamina." A grin, all warrior. "I like it."

This was perhaps the strangest attempt at flirting he'd ever experienced. All the more thrilling it just so happened to be. Watching as a feminine form carried itself like an unstoppable force. Beat after beat, he'd kept up with her too. Maybe he should have focused more so on the enemy at hand ---- the crisis, but the man of steel was easily swayed by the sheer power she possessed.

A true warrior, unlike himself. An immortal being that could ( hopefully ) crush him, along with anything else that stood in her way. The fact that she stood for something greater than superficial and personal gain was...more than admirable.

He was awestruck.

This shouldn't have been a moment solely engineered to impress her, but more so to get the job done. She liked his stamina, his capability of not being left her dust. If he could stand toe to toe with her here and now, wouldn't that suggest potential worthiness?

"I can't say I've met anyone I could match with myself...and you're strong. I...really like that."

The hand that steadied him felt like a touch a million miles away. Swimming concern more presently occupied his senses; the fact that everyone made it out okay had been the biggest blessing. The dust could settle, the fears subside. Whatever mayhem transpired, it was neither something new nor something that would linger for long to those in Gotham City.

He'd recalled Perry warning him to be careful. They might steal his lunch money, after all --- or something to that affect.

It shouldn't have taken him this long to adjust. In all honesty, he shouldn't have had to counterbalance himself to begin with. Something had to give, and Bruce Wayne noticed. Of course he did. As if he'd ever had any doubt that the man wouldn't hold the keenest eye upon him; reading him clearly like code.

"I'm alright," the instinct to say that always kicked in. Swaying on his feet because his vision couldn't focus didn't exactly constitute for 'alright'. Luckily his...friend...saw through that.

"You should get that checked out, you know..." a nod of his head would have to suffice, as he'd gestured toward the slight gash on Bruce's forehead. Clark could manage but one eye open as he'd looked him over carefully. The other glued shut just to ease whatever shrill pain rattled inside his own head.
