STORIESWRITTCN.

As soon as his sister launches herself into his arms, he is wrapping his arms around her. One hand rubbing circles over her back, the other moving to stroke through her hair in an attempt to soothe her. This isn’t easy and it makes him all to aware the emotional effect he undoubtedly had on other people too. He didn’t just hurt them physically, he RUINED them entirely and god,  the guilt claws at him.

Kenneth.

It’s all he needs. He won’t leave her now, not like this, but as soon as he’s sure Matty is okay - he’s going to DESTROY Kenneth. He’ll put him in the damn hospital, he won’t get away with this. Bryce won’t say it, won’t tell her that he plans on taking care of it - she already knows.

“Shhhh, it’s okay, everything’s going to be okay.”

She knows nothing good is going to come from this, knows that VIOLENCE will ensue and it could risk things getting entirely worse. But she had to admit, there’d be some form of catharsis in what comes, even if she’s not the one to do it. Even the weakest form of punishment was good enough for her, but she knows she can’t stop him from doing whatever he does next.

She’s trying to stop crying, trying to be put together again. She knows she doesn’t need to be put together, but it’s always easier when she is. Vulnerability isn’t something she’s good at, not really something she knows how to do. She hates being vulnerable, even when she knows it won’t do any damage.

“You don’t have to—” But she knows he does. And she’ll LET HIM. “Just— Don’t get yourself in trouble. You don’t need that.”
