Ive reached a period in my life that I feel the need to share, solely because I feel so full now. Full of life and love, and a better understanding of my surroundings. Growing up, I was heavily indoctrinated with religious belief. so much so to the point where I had literal fear and anxiety over what I was taught to follow. I developed literal religious anxiety. By religious anxiety, I mean literal fear of God. I was nine years old when I was told that if I didn't accept Jesus Christ into my heart I would be casted into hell for all of eternity. Let's be honest with ourselves, that is heavily psychologically damaging and nothing that you should teach your fucking children.. And for the last twenty something years, that just has never felt right to me. It created a really dark hole within me - a hole that was dug during my childhood. after being interested further with how I've been feeling about this, I decided to do some research. Everything that I found, whether it be written by actual scholars and historical archaeologists - literally debunks everything that I was taught as a child. I'm very much into scientific belief as well as scientific evidence regarding anyting. Essentially, I have spent long nights praying to a god that isn't there. And I never knew how whole and settled I could feel through choosing atheism. I can give life and I can take it away, therefore I am my own God. I've learned that you don't need a religious structure to be moral and kind and loving. I am happy to have approached this New path within my life. 🌼💜
