elodie nods off , head falling against his shoulder. a few moments pass before eyes flutter open &. she sits upright , “i’m sorry i must be tired.” hands rub her eyes as her hand brushes through her snow white locks.

         the sun was setting after a long day of work; helping to rebuild yet another neighborhood after its destruction, caused by yours truly. the two of them were seated on the engawa attached to the guardhouse, empty tea mugs placed next to benimaru that needed refilling. he found himself lost in thought for a while, so long that his body stiffened slightly when he felt the weight of the woman beside him fall onto his shoulder. truthfully, he didn't have the heart to wake her (if she was fast asleep) and he was in no real rush for another drink — not unless it was in the form of sake. the atmosphere around them was peaceful, a surprising yet welcoming feeling for the male, one that allowed him to remain grounded until elodie awoke.
