More Yigal Azrouël.    I love the grey mesh dress.   Note how the holes of the mesh fabric aren't uniformly sized.   It makes it look like a slightly loopy knitted web crossed with a mesh.    Love it!   (Look #24 from the Spring 2014 RTW collection.)

I love stripe everything.   So of course, I love this striped blazer with zip pockets and a slight peplum hem.    It's perfect for spring and as a protective layer when summer comes 'round and every building I enter is over air-conditioned.
Striped blazer, $79.90, ZARA.

Gotta love this black & white dress by Yigal Azrouël.  Look #12 from his Spring 2014 RTW collection.    I love the pattern, the cut, and the length of this dress.   Perfect for a city summer.

Summer Fashion Fix - Budget Basics
Sometimes, I just need a cheap dress that works as an easy-to-wear canvas.   I can easily accessorize it with scarves and jewelry if necessary, but I can change up these elements and keep using the dress as a starting point.
This H&M sleeveless dress in olive (also available in red) is going to be one of my workhorses for summer weekend afternoons.
Available now at H&M, $29.95.

This is going to be my go-to dress for some of the events I'll attend this summer.   I love the tasteful dark sparkliness of this dress and the big cutout in the back.

I really want these for all the upcoming summer parties.   Some of the maxi-dresses I bought are so long that I need heels.  This pair could be the solution...
Tumblr media
I like these sandals (Ivanka Trump Maxy - on sale at Nordstrom). I don’t know if they’ll fit me. I have a really high instep. Last week at Dillard’s, I tried on both the Vince Camuto Jerimaya and Fontanela. Neither one worked on my foot. The Jerimaya wouldn’t even buckle around that place on my foot and the t-strap was in the wrong place. The Fontanela fit ok but tight on the instep and I was afraid they’d be awful in the heat. So…. maybe I’ll try Maxy. One reviewer said that the space between the cage and the bottom was weird. Hmmmm…..

I'm in love with this porcelain blue dress from Mango.   I already know all the places where I'll wear it this summer...   The tassel belt is super-charming.  I'll feel like the High Priestess of Ibiza or Costa del Sol Vacationing while wearing this dress.
Pleated long dress, $129.99, Mango.

This is nuts. Meet Singaporean fashion illustrator, Grace Ciao. Her mind-blowing designs are biblically, insanely well put together using just flowers.

These shoes are calling my name.  They are telling me to go to DSW and they are telling me that they'd be a great neutral to go with all the cobalt blue and other bold colors.    Special thanks to lucyeatsdiamonds for the great pick!

Since it’s still Lent, I’m still on the hunt for tan pumps for spring/summer but I can’t buy them yet. Came across these pumps - Tahari Marjorie - on DSW the other day. They could be the ones! Great heel height and cute details - the bow, the stitching. The only thing that could make them better would be if the heel were stacked wood. I beat the hell out of leather covered heels.

I love these tall, blocky sandals with the compressed sine-curve side design.    They're in a light, matte, spring/summer color, and joyously dramatic!
Leather sandals, H&M, $99.

I love this comfy dress in t-shirt material.   It exists at the perfect (for me) intersection between comfort, informality, sensuality, and restraint.
Dress with Crossover Neckline, $35.90, ZARA.

I love leather jackets in spring!  And, it's nice to see one in a tan color, as we move away from the blacks and greys of winter.    Nice styling with the hoodie, too.
Leather Biker Jacket with Zips, $239, ZARA.

I'm in love.    I generally don't go for turquoise, and certainly not turquoise + silver, which often pushes into tacky faux-Southwestern U.S. fashion.    But I get one glance at the Ippolita "Rock Candy Lollipop" ring and I get my head turned.   I can't look away.    I find the darker turquoise, with its veining, compelling, and gorgeous.
"Rock Candy Lollipop" Sterling Silver Ring, $550, Nordstrom.
