Security and customs have always been a drama for me. I would always get sent for additional screening and questioning. It took me a long time to finally come to the realisation that it was because my difficulty making eye contact with strangers, fidgeting, and verbal processing delay was interpreted by security staff as lying. Even after I came to the realisation, it still didn't help because I couldn't stop my natural behaviours. My initial solution was to allocate extra time and bring extra paperwork in my backpack for the likely additional questioning. The last time I visited an airport, I wore a sunflower lanyard and it was the first time I didn't get sent for additional screening. People's faces seemed calmer when I took long pauses before responding to questions. It was an airport which had the sunflower lanyard program on their website so I think the staff had received training about how autistic people may behave.

This is a bit of a rant and a bit of a vent so please get to this when you’re in the right mental state.

Is it possible that autistic people are just traumatised more easily? Because a few months ago I was travelling alone for the very first time (I’m a teenager) and on the way back home going through customs I didn’t know which was the correct line and I kept being sent back and I remember panicking and crying so much and people couldn’t understand me.

Luckily I was able to get to my gate in time for my flight but I just can’t stop thinking about it. It sounds so stupid because it was just the airport but whenever I think about it I still feel dread. I don’t want to go near an airport again because it makes me feel panicky even though I’ve never have a problem until now. I have nightmares about it but when I try to explain it to anyone it just comes out as trivial. It keeps affecting me months later and I just don’t know what to do about it. I thought by now the feelings would go away but they haven’t.

For the future I’ve gotten a sunflower lanyard to hope it helps but the country I was in (and have to go back to because my dad lives there and I have to visit him yearly) isn’t exactly known for their disability accommodations.

I just needed to tell someone about this and maybe look for advice? I also know you have your ups and downs so please don’t feel pressured to answer this if you can’t, this is probably a heavier ask.

Yes, autistics are more prone to experiencing trauma and developing PTSD.

Our higher sensory profiles, difficulties with social situations/rules/interactions, higher stress levels etc all mean that some autistics can experience trauma more easily.

"The sun was honey-bright that afternoon" however? yes. that sentence is dope as fuck. i do not care if "honey-bright" is a word in the english dictionary. i do not care if the sentence is grammatically correct. i will not change. i will not correct my erred ways. the laws of the english language are mine.

Great start! I am hooked. If Pen the character is not intimidated or threatened by the fact that Colin has sex BEFORE their sexual relationship started, we can all aspire to be that understanding and mature too. Pen's biggest driver is curiosity, which I love (she is panting to read more of his smutty journal). Pen knows Colin loves her the most (I am 100% certain Colin has moaned "you are the best ever" in her ear, that man can't keep his mouth shut about how much he loves her). Pen wasn’t his first, but she is his best and will be his last, which is what is most important.

Their marriage was still a new thing, only a month old or so, when Pen decided it was time to ask Colin about his diaries. She was curious, considering all the things they had already done in their short period together.

And she had a plan to accomplish what she had in mind.

The next evening, Colin was still working on his desk, when she appeared. She was dressed in a semi transparent nightgown, and she was an absolute vision. Colin looked up and stood there, transfixed by her beauty.

Pen smirked, satisfied to see the desire in his eyes.

She got closer to him, "take a break, husband?"

Colin didn't have to think twice. He turned the chair to gave her his undivided attention.

Pen threw a cushion on the floor, kneeling on it. Colin gulped.

Pen was no stranger to take a more active role since they were married... But this was a whole other layer.

"I'll take you and then you can tup me how you like it husband..." She said in a seductive tone, scratching her nails on his pants, making him sigh in delight.

"But you have to read me your diary.

You did promise."

He looked down, surprised, not able to bite back a moan when she touched him through the fabric.

Colin took the diary and find the first entrance he wanted to read her. Pen was using her hands to unbutton his breeches and he was easily distracted.

He stopped as she freed his coxk, waiting.

She also stopped, looking at him.

"You have a job to do Mr. Bridgerton"

He started reading in a broken voice.

"The first time I went to a brothel, I don't know what to expect".

Pen started pumping him slowly at that point, and he quickly learned to not look down if he wanted to be able to read.

"I want to say I choose the girl, but in reality the owner took one look at me and send me to Madame. Her name was just Madame. She was exquisite.

I also want to say it was a profound experience. Sadly, it lasted 2 minutes and not very profound at all. Luckily for me, the second time went better"

Colin was struggling to keep his attention, as Pen started teasing him with quick kisses and a long swipe of her tongue from his base to his tip.

"Don't stop Colin. I want you to read it more"

He steady himself, ready for starting reading again when he felt her mouth enveloping him.

It was going to be a long night!

For some of us, we stan Luke because he's much needed neurodivergent representation and we defend him because we've experienced the same misunderstanding of our behavior in our own lives. Neurotypicals don't understand what it's like to experience ADHD paralysis and go on to accomplish things regardless. They don't understand what it's like to not get neurochemical reward for the things you do and only experience the struggle of it. You end up going - what's the point?

Think of it this way - say you have celiac and you have to travel across town to the specialty store to get things you can eat. That's hours out of your day gone that people who can just pop to their local grocery store don't have to lose. And then you have to cook it all yourself. We literally have to fish for dopamine wherever we can find it so that we can have enough to perform functions other people can just readily do, because their brain makes it properly. We literally can't function without it. We need the snacks, the TV binges, the video games... If you don't experience it, kindly stfu. Would you rail against a diabetic for needing insulin? If you don't understand him, educate yourselves.

We like Nicola fine, she just reads as very neurotypical so she isn't as inspirational to us as him. There have been studies that show that kids with ADHD <12yo experience 20,000 times more criticism from other kids, teachers and even their own parents than neurotypical ones. 20,000! Do you know what that can do to a person? Especially in a rejection-heavy industry like entertainment? Throw a learning disorder in there and you could easily make misery soup. He's done extremely well for himself, even by neurotypical standards, and some people are over here feeling superior to him while engaging in ableist bullying! Kindly go to hell if you're one of them. He isn't a puppet for you to use in your fantasies, he's a real person with real struggles who's only "crime" is sharing his talent with you. This fandom is full of soulless, petty, superficial demons with no empathy and no real understanding of anyone's humanity. It's no wonder he shares almost nothing anymore.

I can only speak from the pov of a dyslectic and someone with anxiety disorder, but still - Luke’s impact for neurodivergence is undeniable. And if you don’t get it, then just stop talking. Stop paying attention to us, if you don’t even like him.

I had these exact same thoughts. You articulated it so well. I need this, otherwise Shondaland must refund me for having to endure so much Ben threesome screentime while getting no Polin oral sex/nipple action.

It just makes sense character development wise, that the S3 threesome leads to Ben trying to in S4 sex Sophie up while she is dressed as a woman and as a man. We mustn’t be the only people thinking this, surely?

I want Ben getting attracted to Sophie as the lady in silver, then as a man. And the disguise as a man is the reason he does not realise she is the lady in silver, because wrong gender.

I hadn't thought of how amazing it would be for Ben to continue on the oblivious Bridgerton male tradition, and a surprise boob or lack of dick reveal during the first intimacy scene would be hilarious.

Also, all your additional asks were all in my head as well: Ben drawing the lady in silver, team Polin helping Ben investigate the location of the lady in silver and the stolen dowry, commencement in s4 of E+P nerdy love letter writing, and in s4 or s5 F having John's baby so the inheritance is secured (then F + M have more agency and are not powerless because they have guardianship of the baby earl).

I have an ideal Season 4 of Bridgerton in mind.

I don't think I'm gonna get it. But I'll share the deets anyways.

Sophie needs to become an homage to Twelfth Night in addition to Cinderella to not waste Ben's "oh hey, I'm not fully hetero" plot build.

If we take this route, it will add a solid richness to the plot:

Benedict meets Sophie as the Lady in Silver.

Great big Cinderella go poof act.

Benedict saves Sophie while she is dressed and acting as a man. Who knows what from. Don't care, really.

Benedict hires Sophie while being attracted to her persona as a man, but never once clocking her Lady in Silver beyond a "huh, that's weird but impossible".

Benedict is still going to flirt with Sophie in any form. We know this.

There would be mutual lusting, duh. With forbidden flavoring naturally.

Then instead of "become my mistress because you are too lowborn" we get "be my lover because society will not accept us". Much better. Ick gone.

First sex scene would be hilarious if Benedict was being oblivious (like all Bridgy boys) and got surprised by boobs. Admit it.

There would still be scandal to dodge in the end but it might be more thrilling than the book's resolution because the risk is higher to pose as a man than a serving maid.

Additional asks:

1. Artist Benedict needs to be revived. Maybe he tries to draw and paint his Lady in Silver after her disappearance?

2. Polin needs to face any issues together and not be at odds. Seriously, they make a great comedy duo. And they were in so much conflict their season.

3. Eloise needs to start corresponding with Phillip. Maybe after Marina passes off screen, but it needs to start asap for her season to go smoothly.

4. I think that Francecsa is going to have to have John's baby and it will have to be a boy. This will keep the earldom in play. If John passes with no heir and Michaela doesn't marry? It falls out of the family. For this to work, there has to be a Francesca and John son.
