Played through Mike Bithell's Tron Identity earlier this month. Started playing Tron 2.0 from Monolith for the first time this past weekend. Both have blown me away.

Cleaning up those corners of Tron I haven't touched yet. I think there was a comic published at one point I need to hunt down. The world of Tron really is peak

super excited to finally share the piece I did for the @tronfashionzine! I was going for a sort of artsy vogue editorial vibe, though I feel I could've pushed it further with more dramatic makeup to sell the fashion aspect.

Here is my piece for the @tronfashionzine !! Of viet PHúC Beck and bodhi! There were some errors and trials and a lot of concept changes... But nonetheless it was a fun journey for me to take! :D anyway go read the zine, it has a lot of other amazing designs and talented artists who contributed alongside me and are really amazing people ^^

I finally get to share the pieces I made for the Tron fashion zine!!! These were so fun to make

Concept doodles below the cut because art school has conditioned me to show my process (but also I just wanna show it shhh-)

Idk what I was goin for with the first concept, but I really liked what I did on the right.

Wanted to showcase a lil more of fashion that programs could probably call ‘street wear’. I imagine it’s a lot more focused on shape and drape, in contrast to the skin tight suits they usually wear.

Also REALLY wanted to use that as an excuse to draw Beck and Bodhi (and roller skates n hoverboards? Because I imagine those exist and they’re cool asf), but I decided against it because I had already seen garage gang rep in the art people showed.

So I decided to pivot and get my boy Cyrus in here cuz who tf is gonna draw Cyrus otherwise,,.,., who’s gonna draw that weird man,, it’s my calling.

I tried to give him sleeves n give him some shape with that, but he felt restricted n frumpy. It also felt way too sophisticated for a guy who probably killed ten cops before breakfast in his time as Renegade. So, I went with what I had on the right, freeing his arms up.

I got SOOOO happy when I realized a way to incorporate piercings into the design, making them fit into the Grid. Drilling into the render of a program to apply locking clasps sounded so metal in my head, I can see Cyrus getting those. The customization you can achieve by attaching anything to the locking clasps,,, it fascinates me.

some lil process things trying to find a good pose, second felt like it wasn't showing off his outfit well (you can tell I made this after the Tron piece because wow I really obscured his outfit there-).

Tron piece:

Very quickly I decided I wanted Tron’s piece to be inspired by the cover of Isaac Asimov’s Robot Dreams (which is in turn inspired by Flaming June what a rabbit hole-). Because yes he’s not sleeping in this drawing but he Is the program of everyone’s dreams good god.

I really just wanted to draw him in the outfit I created for him in my LOTR AU, but in hindsight the pose didn’t lend itself to showcasing the outfit well 😭 plus I hadn’t figured out the colors of his outfit yet so that was a struggle.

I did want to harken back to Moebius with the style of clothing, while also combining it with knight-like iconography. Hope that worked out-

figured out the coloring here, just kinda went ham from there! That's all, really :)

Citizens of the grid!

a mix of 1982 tron and legacy. i wanted them to look more abstract, more like computer beings with a whole weird culture. i only named 3 of them so far (polymide, named after a component in fiber optic cables, petabit and RGB).

and the lightcycle. not all transport needs to be a huge fast racing vehicle. my dude in the hat basically has a sci-fi bike. definitely not the fastest thing in the grid! but great for delivering small packages
