Witch God Tier Shirt Tutorial
Warning: Image Heavy!
Alright! So, this is how I made my shirt for my God Tier Feferi cosplay. First of all, let me show you source pictures, most of them jade because Feferi is only cannon in GT once:

Secondly, let me show you the shirt:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This took me about 2-3 hours to do.
So the materials you’ll be needing are:
2-3 Yards of your fabric of choice (I suggest a fabric with a slight stretch to it, cause you have to remember this will be something you’ll have to pull over your head. Since you won’t have to alter this shirt in any way with burning like some god tiers, it’s okay to use synthetic fabrics. I used a good quality polyster knit fabric, like the ones Polo’s are made out of, but much softer.)
Matching thread (I used a spool of 500 Meters, but you can get a 250 Meter one because I didn’t make a big dent in the spool I had.)
A good fitting shirt with sleeves (if you have one with long sleeves that would be fantastic but anything with sleeves is fine. Just make sure it has sleeves. And don’t worry, you won’t be cutting it up.)
A sewing machine (not neccessary, but this would be horrible to sew by hand.)
something to trace on fabric with (I used fabric chalk)
First, you’ll want to lay out your fabric per usual. Place your shirt on top of it and trace around it. If you have a rotary cutter, do not skip this step and go to cutting. Put the blade down and follow along.
While tracing, you’ll notice that you won’t be able to trace the collar or the sleeves of the shirt. Let me explain how I traced the collar first:
Tumblr media
(I kind of didn’t take pictures while making it, so I’ll be communicating via quick drawings as I go along)
I took my fabric chalk and marked where the collar started in both shoulders and another mark right where the middle of the collar would be. Now, you’ll use your best logic to draw the collar of the shirt. You should draw on the collar after you’re finished tracing the whole shirt.
Tumblr media
Now, let me explain how to trace the seams where the sleeves meet the shirt.
Tumblr media
This part might be explained weird so it can be confusing. You’re going to flip over the sleeve so its touching the rest of the shirt. Of course when you do this the seam won’t be perfectly flat on the fabric since it curves. So you should use one hand to press down on the seam so its touching the fabric and with your tracer in your other hand made a mark right next to the seam. Keep doing this until you did the whole sleeve and have an array of marks to trace a curve over. Do it to the other sleeve as well. Now you have both your sleeves! As for the triangle at the bottom, its quite easy.
Tumblr media
Just draw a triangle at the bottom! Make sure to make it even and not insanely long! Your end product of tracing should look like this: (I actually have a picture of this one)
Tumblr media
Do the same thing for the back (Minus the collar) and make sure to make the triangle slightly longer than the one in the front because you’re butt may make the shirt ride up while you’re wearing it.
Now, onto tracing the sleeves.
You’re going to want to do this on fabric that is folded in half because we’re only tracing half a sleeve and you want a full sleeve when you cut it out.
Do the same thing you did to trace the sleeve seams of the shirt and then trace the sleeve up to however far it goes. If you have short sleeves, or sleeves that just don’t reach up to your wrist, take a tape measure while you’re wearing the shirt you traced and start measuring at wherever the sleeve stops. Measure down to your wrist and take those added inches and put them onto the sleeve that you traced earlier. Just draw a straight line for the whole thing and go back and draw a sort of bell bottom on the sleeve for the flare of the witch’s shirt sleeve. Cut this out and don’t unfold it so you can trace it onto another folded piece of fabric.
This is the part where you will spend a long few minutes cutting out all the patterns you have made.
Now you can sew them all together! I know people have different ways of sewing shirts, so I’ll quickly go through them. Just remember that no matter which way you sew you should always try on your pieces in between to make sure they fit right.
Tumblr media
(source: http://thesewingloftblog.com/)
A lot of people have problems sewing sleeves correctly onto shirts so they like to do this. What this basically is is sewing the shirt by sewing the shoulders together and sewing on the top of the sleeves to that piece before folding it over the shoulder seams and sewing it together. I’ve never done this but it makes sewing sleeves onto shirts much less stressful for many people. So, if you’re weary about putting the sleeves on correctly you can do this!
Now, what I do is sew all the pieces regularly by sewing the front piece to the back piece and then sewing the two sleeves. I like to hem all the pieces before I sew them together, but that’s just me. Then, I sew the sleeves to the torso by pinning where the sleeve seam is to where the body seam is.
Tumblr media
I pin it by starting from that point. This way, I’m sure that its even. I also start sewing by that point as well. This ends up with my sleeves coming out right about 100% of the time.
Congrats! You’re done with your god tier shirt! Now all you have to do is put on your symbol by using the method you prefer!
I’m going to direct you all to check out annanocturnal’s tutorial that she made on her god tier witch shirt because some people may benefit from having two tutorials to use instead of one. The link opens in a new window.
Have fun and I hope this tutorial helped!

Family comin’ through and driving or pedaling Trucy around. Love is stored in the companionship of journeys be it a bike or car.
She plays Bicycle by Queen on loop to annoy Polly whenever he bikes her around and it drives him insane.

Hughes: How do you feel about children?
Roy: They’re okay, I guess. I mean, if I saw one, I wouldn’t throw a rock at it.
Hughes: Why would you throw a rock at a child?
Roy: I just said I wouldn’t.
