i can't stop looking at them and i'm gonna make it your problem. (no spoilers for The Last of Us Part 2 and the second season of the show, outside what has already been shown in trailers)

first of all, what a lovely style. fantastic use of color and negative space. the fungal growths are beautiful and appropriately creepy, especially as they are most prominent over the back of the characters' heads (where Cordyceps grows in the lore). some remind me of spilled ink or falling ashes.

the poses! Ellie mirroring Joel, who has taught her so much. however, while Joel is looking down, Ellie is looking up. and the woman, who we don't yet know, is entirely opposite them (different part of her poster, turned away from us instead of towards us, looking in the other direction.)

the silhouettes! with so much symbolism!! Joel has representations of his connection to both Sarah and Ellie - the stopped watch from his daughter, and the guitar we see him use to connect with Ellie in the teaser, set up in the first season. his memories of Sarah are at the core of his relationship to Ellie.

Ellie has a moth - look for the light - and her switchblade - an instrument of violence. those two objects also represent her connection to her family - the switchblade is her mom's, while the moth is a prominent symbol on the guitar we see Joel give her, connecting their two posters.

the woman has a raging wolf, which appears to mirror her and separates her from the little Joel and Ellie on her poster. she has no personal items, making it look like she's alone and rage is the only thing connecting her to others. even without ever seeing the other two posters, we can tell she is in some way opposite to the duo, and she almost appears to grow out of the moment of Joel carrying Ellie away, Ellie's hair mimicking roots.
