Protests in Sudan
Unfortunately, what’s happening in Sudan did not get world attention for several reasons but just let me highlight that mainly because they want Al Bashir to have the power.
Nevertheless, for those who did share it, they claimed it’s against prices insane increase or/and lack of cash/liquidity in banks or/and fuel and transaction and bread waiting line.
So here’s a thread written by @BSonblast will give you a general photo of the situation and how a nation have been governed by the same government for more than 30y have said enough is enough. Enough for using the religion for personal interest, enough for the rubies infrastructure, enough for wasting young generations youth and seeing their drama being mocked by military or the police and most importantly enough for people dying out of hunger.

I don’t usually talk about politics here but since Thursday Sudanese people have gone to the street in protests all over the country. it’s really bad prices for basic necessities have gone up in astronomical rates, people can’t afford medicine or food or gas. Armed forces are meeting the protestors with tear gas and rubber bullets last I checked 5 people are already dead. They closed the use of all social media sites I’m using vpn right now to post this. please spread the word and raise awareness about this the international media hasn’t been reporting this. please spread the word, the people are fed up.

Statues of Egypt’s 25th dynasty, recently excavated in Kerma, Sudan. The 25th dynasty derived from the Nubian kings of Kush. After the Egyptian New Kingdom had entered a prolonged decline from the 11th century BC, King Piye extended his control down the Nile, assaulted Memphis and claimed the title of Pharaoh. His line reunified the Nile valley and governed capably for several decades until deposed by the Assyrian king Assurbanipal.

Meroë is an ancient city on the east bank of the Nile, 6 km from the Kabushiya station near Shendi, Sudan, 200 km from Khartoum. This city was the capital of the Kingdom of Kush for several centuries. The Kushitic Kingdom gave its name to the Island of Meroë, which was the modern region of Butana, bounded by the Nile. The first of these sites was given its name by the Persian king, Cambyses, in honor of his sister who was called by that name. The city had originally borne the ancient appellation Saba, named after the country’s original founder. The Kingdom of Kush represents one of a series of early states located within the middle Nile. It’s one of the earliest and most impressive states found south of the Sahara. The site is marked by more than 200 pyramids in 3 groups. They have the distinctive size and proportions of Nubian pyramids.

“’…Darfur is a place without history. Darfur is a place without politics. Darfur is simply a dot on the map. It is simply a place, a site, where perpetrator confronts victim. And the perpetrator’s name is Arab. And the victim’s name is African. And it is easy to demonize. It is easy to hold a moral position which is emptied of its political content. This bothered me, and so I wrote about it.‘”
