The honing process.
We’ve chosen to take action in this life. We made a conscious decision to not sit idly by and watch plastic, throw-away culture rot us away. We choose strength. We revere power. Power over ourselves.
It’s all too easy to forget that we must hone our mind along with our body. Train to be hard to kill physically. Study to be a formidable adversary mentally.
Test yourself often. Find a debate, create a discussion, challenge your brothers, provoke thought.
It is this writer’s opinion that the honing of the mind is an essential function for the growth of self and tribe.
“Read, write, and do something physical every day.” - Jim Wendler, author of 5/3/1

Cowards
They can come in many forms; the man afraid to take a risk because he may fail, the man who hides behind the veil of political correctness, and worse yet, the man who curls into a ball and hides when he is needed the most (think Corporal Upham).
Fear is natural, fear is good. Fear lets you know that you are alive. No one who has ever faced grave danger will ever tell you that they did so without fear. The body wants to protect itself and does a great job of doing so. Read more on the fight or flight response and the changes your body goes through when faced with adversity. Fear is the product of a natural physiological response to outside stressors (threats) placed on the body, but fear should not cripple you. If you get scared and cannot move or think or act then it isn’t fear you have a problem with, it is weakness.
You must present yourself with self-induced adversity if you want the ability to act calmly and efficiently under the stress of fear. Find something to challenge you and excite you. Do something that might kill you. You will never be more alive.
Although, the Upham’s and the physically frail men of the world aren’t the point of this particular tirade. That particular type of coward has been written about ad nauseam. The target here is a different type; those who are emotional cowards. You’ve all seen them wallowing in their own self pity. Seeking to be exhalted to something greater than they are and far greater than they ever will be. The world is full of them, blasted in your face on TV and YouTube daily. So much so that it has began to infiltrate our culture. Mutating our genes. It is becoming a part of our DNA.
There are only two options when it comes to emotional cowards: they fix themselves through a transformation of self or you cut them loose. If the first does not happen, then you must perform the latter. They should be treated as a cancer, cut out to never return. If you cannot find it in yourself then you must be willing to accept the fact that they will drag you down to a place far worse than physical death - emotional death.
Those of us who have taken on the task of creating and rearing the next generation must make a conscious point to ensure that our children are not becoming these monsters, fueled by reality shows and mind-altering pharmaceuticals. Challenge yourself, challenge those in your tribe, challenge your children. It is the only way that cowardice is destroyed. Crush emotional weakness.
“Prosperity is a great teacher; adversity a greater.” - William Hazlitt
