Thorn couldn’t help but laugh a little bit “yeah, his name was Ben Ravencroft, his ancestor Sara was a witch in salem and the town was using her name to attract tourists and he was upset and then someone was impersonating her ghost so you guys came to town to check it out, again why you thought I was a witch and a suspect.” Thorn explained to her she wondered if the rest of Daphne’s friends were in town as well, she supposed if anyone could figure out what was going on around here it was probably them.
“You also came and stopped a vampire from kidnapping us during one of our music video shoots….that was a weird one and of course it wasn’t actually a vampire just a guy from another band guy trying to stop us.”
“Jeepers...” Daphne muttered as she listened to the other woman. This almost sounded like something she’d talk about in one of her podcasts, but if Thorn was to be believed, it had all really happened to her. She always had this gut instinct that she knew more about this kind of stuff than she thought, and this just affirmed it. “What kind of person would dress up as a vampire and kidnap someone? That’s messed up.”

Paul hated being laughed at, maybe even more than he liked musicals, but for some reason he didn’t mind when Emma was the one laughing at him. If anything, it brought a sense of comfort to him. “Well, I’ll do just about anything to prove I’m not a singing alien.” He shook his head. “Yeah, freakishly nice. Almost unnervingly nice.” He shook his head and his eyes trailed to the ground for a few seconds before he looked back up. “Yeah. If those bastards made me do anything, I wanna know about it.”
Emma had to hold her breath to stop the giggles from escaping her lips, hunching over as she shook with laughter. “I honestly, did not expect you to do that Matthews.” She breathed after sitting up straight, wiping a tear from her eye. “No offense but that was god awful, I’ll take it as proof. Those alien bastards do have nice voices.” Emma looked seriously at Paul. “Do you want to know, what happened?”

Ember wasn’t used to getting compliments but it was nice “Oh Uh Thanks,” Ember said to her with a polite smile “I like your jacket,” she added hoping to return the compliment
Daphne looked down at her own jacket, a grin spreading across her features. “Oh, thanks! I’ve basically had it forever.” She smiled.

Ember had to think about it for a minute, if it was the diner she was thinking about she usually ended up getting her lunch from there anyway and the specials today would be….
“Fine. But you’re buying me a cup of corn chowder” ember said putting her guitar in it’s case and putting the strap over her shoulders she locked the door to the shop after hanging a sign saying she’d be back soon
“I’m Ember,”
Morgan had yet to try the diner, but she was looking for something new and figured there was no harm in trying it. Besides, it seemed like a decent place to grab a quick bite. “Okay, deal.” She smiled, motioning with her head toward the diner before she started to walk. She was always an outgoing person, so grabbing lunch with a stranger was nothing new. “I’m Morgan. Nice to meet you.”

“You just ran so fast, gonna catch your breath or something?” Standing up MJ shrugged. She was never so good at expressing her feelings but she had a lot on her mind. “I don’t know. I mean like how are you handling all this.” she waved her hands. “I mean like everything.”
“No, I’m- I’m good.” Peter shook his head, pushing a strand of hair out of his eyes. “It’s... I’m doing okay, I think.” He shrugged, sitting down next to MJ. “I mean obviously it’s weird, but after seeing a few familiar faces I think I’m starting to adjust.”

Thorn smiled a little bit and motioned to a table near by “Well I don’t want to tell you all the details because you might think me crazier than this town,” Thorn told her taking a seat “The gist of it is, you’re from a place called Coolsville, you and a bunch of your friends were sort of like detectives and you guys went to my hometown of Salem chasing a mystery author that your friend Velma loved. You guys came across my band rehearsing for a concert and thought I was a witch, long story short once we cleared the air we’ve been friends ever since.” Thorn told her smiling as she took a sip of her coffee
“So what do you do now?”
Daphne smiled, eagerly following the other woman to the table and sitting down. “Oh come on, it can’t be that crazy.” She grinned, crossing her legs in an attempt to get more comfortable. Her logical side told her that Thorn could very easily be lying, and they might not actually know her, but for some reason she believed her. It was as if she trusted her. “Detective? Wait, that’s so cool. Totally not what I ever saw myself doing, but still, cool.” She laughed. “Wait, Salem? As in the Salem Witch Trials? Do we investigate spooky stuff like that?” Her eyes were wide in excitement, but the question brought her back down to Earth. “Oh, I’m in school. Journalism major. Oh, and I have a podcast, all about paranormal stuff and unexplained activity.”

He smiled a little at her relief. No one had manners anymore (but then again, there was such a thing as too much politeness: thankfully Steve had never gone that far. Even when he was breakable as glass, he didn’t take shit). His smile faded, however, at her question, and he glanced around. He’d never been good at keeping his feelings off his face, but something was telling him to keep his mouth shut about who he was and how he’d come to be here. He still didn’t know exactly what was happening, and after Thanos…well, it paid to be cautious. “What do you mean, no explanation?” he asked carefully. “Everyone comes from somewhere.”
“Well yeah, obviously everyone comes from somewhere.” Lucy was good at reading people, and she knew it, so she could tell immediately at his shift in expression that he was hiding something. She just had to figure out what it was. “What I mean to say is that people are being taken from their homes and brought here. All I’m trying to do is figure out why, so I can figure out how to reverse it.”

she nodded as Lucy repeated her name. her brows then furrow and she slowly nods her head, “yeah, I suppose. I didn’t think it was a real thing that was happening. is it?” she asks the blonde.
“It happened to me, so as far as I’m concerned, that’s as real as it gets.” Lucy replied as she jotted something down in her notebook. “So you’re from around here, then?”

“Dear God, please don’t tell me this is more of that Upside Down bullshit.” Max muttered under her breath, crossing her arms over her chest. She’d been in town for a few days now, but she couldn’t stop thinking about how she’d ended up in Rivergate with no explanation. “Dustin, I’m gonna need you to think, okay? You’ve got more experience with all this than I do, has anything like this ever happened before?”

“Bev, hey!” Ben called out, waving to the redhead from his seat. With all the insanity going on in this town, he’d hardly gotten any time to see Beverly, which was something he definitely wanted to change. He stood from his seat and walked over to greet the redhead. “Do you, uh, wanna grab a bite? This place is really good.”

“What?” Paul’s eyes went instinctively wide, and he suddenly felt like he was back in the bunker with Professor Hidgens, and the rest of his friends that had died during the invasion. It took him a second to recover and he let out a soft chuckle before he started singing the intro. It was bad, really bad, and it was clear that he’d only seen the movie once. Clearly he wasn’t a fan. “Is that good enough? Or do you want to hear more?”
Emma chuckled, she was glad they weren’t in fucking Clivesdale, what a trash heap! At his question, she shrugged, “It occasionally hurts like a mother fucker, but all in all okay.” She really didn’t want to think of the crash and how she well, spit blood in Paul’s face. She never did get that kiss, but, that seemed irrelevant. Emma picked up her coffee mug, she took a sip from it and smirked. “Sing the beginning of Moana.”

“Yeah, paranormal studies and demonology.” Coraline explained to him she hoped he didn’t ask why she had chosen to pick that, she didn’t want to lie to him and she also didn’t want to talk about ‘the other mother’ and her unreasonable (yet totally reasonable) fear of sewing and buttons.
“What about you? What are you studying?”
“That’s so cool, seriously. I’ve always been into that kind of stuff. Kinda makes me wish I knew about the major when I declared mine.” He chuckled softly. He hadn’t thought to ask why she’d chosen it, he just assumed it was an interest of hers, just like him. “Me? Journalism.”

How was it that someone could go from being so excited to see someone one second and disappointed the next? Daphne was obviously one of the ones who had forgotten but at least she was still a familiar face
“Thorn Mcknight, We’re from the same place…well we were friends at one point.” Thorne explained to her offering her hand as if she was meeting her for the first time
“You and your friends used to come to all of our concerts,”
“We’re from the same place?” Daphne’s eyes went wide. Her memory of things before ending up in Rivergate was a little fuzzy, but she’d just kind of accepted that she was gonna have to make a new life for herself here. Now, maybe that wasn’t the case. “Where are we from? Tell me everything.”

It was a little disappointing that the first familiar face that Wendy got to see didn’t even know who she was, but she supposed she should take what she could get?
“Well that sucks,” she admitted putting her hands in her pockets before she smiled a little at him again “Can’t be helped though, I’m Wendy.” she said it was weird introducing herself to someone she already knew but at least she still knew and who knew, maybe she could help him remember?
“Wendy.” He repeated. Even the name sounded familiar, like it was on the tip of his tongue but he couldn’t quite get it. Maybe something else would help in the future. “Oh, I’m Mason. But uh, you probably knew that already, didn’t you?” He smiled, awkwardly holding his hand out for the woman to shake.

Ami laughed again shaking her head a little bit before she looked down at her notebook again “Just need a top hat and you’ll be the belle of the ball.” She told him it was nice to joke around with someone, ami usually had her head so stuffed in a book that she wasn’t really that popular with people which she didn’t mind but it was still nice to have someone to talk too.
“A top hat? Oh man, you’re right, that’s perfect.” He chuckled, shoving the makeshift mustache into his pocket. “I actually think I might’ve seen one at this weird little shrift store downtown. We could go see if it’s still there, you in?” He smiled.

moonscarrd:
Steve waved a hand easily, dismissing Peter’s address: “don’t ‘sir’ me, this ain’t the army.” Thank God - he’d never done well there, couldn’t handle the authority. The only thing that had kept him working hard when he’d first been sent to boot camp had been sheer fucking determination to be sent to the front, and half of that had been to do with Bucky, anyhow. Peter reminded him a bit of that kid he’d been, desperate to prove himself - the kid he could have been, maybe, with modern medicine, better lungs.
“‘course I’m glad to see you,” he said, frowning. “Gotta say, there aren’t many folks I recognise ‘round here. Plus, I spent five years. thinking..” He trailed off and winced. The grief was all-too raw, even now, when he’d seen his friends restored to him. He’d been snatched away too quickly to really appreciate that they were alive, that Thanos was defeated. “Anyway. What are you up to, kid?” He raised his eyebrows at the suit. “Don’t tell me you’re getting into trouble already?”
Peter’s eyes widened and he nodded quickly. “Right, right, no sir. Got it. Sorry.” He smiled softly, running a hand through his hair, left messy by his mask. It was still weird to him, talking to someone like Captain America as if they were friends, but Steve was also someone he really looked up to. Even if Mr. Stark made him fight Steve, he still really admired him, and he always had. “F-Five years, right. The five years that I...” His lips pursed together and he cleared his throat. It was hard for him to process the fact that he’d been turned to dust for five years. After all, it only felt like seconds to him. Steve’s next question caused his head to snap up. “Me? Oh no, no trouble, just stopping a few petty robberies here and there. Y’know, normal friendly neighborhood Spider-Man stuff.”
