Tired. Beat up. And the subject of countless bludgers, Sturgis was beat up and bruised but a little too proud to make his way to the hospital wing. So he found himself sliding into a seat in the common room, a grunt slipping as he managed to be seated. When someone strolled over, he shook his head. “Not today, not a good day.... Lots of ow, need rest, need food.”

Sturgis laughed and took the shot glass, raising his brow. “You sure you wanna do this?” He slammed his drink down without hesitation and hummed. “Wow that... actually burned a little.”
❝ come here, ❞ eliza started, looking to the person only a few feet away and nodding her head to the spot beside to her. she stood before a table, pouring two shots of firewhiskey in a pair of glasses before setting the bottle down and handing one of the small glasses to her new companion with a smirk- eyes tantalizingly challenging as she picked up her own. ❝ ready? ❞

“God, it’s just...” He’s holding Dash in his arms, petting the puppy with gentle strokes over his ears and looking out past the lake with a reminiscent gaze. “It’s so close, you know. We’re so close to the end that it feels like there’s this inevitable cloud looming. Leaving this school, figuring it all out. Christ I still have a hard time remembering the proper ingridients for a fire-breathing potion, why would you want someone like me to be an adult.”
Shaking his head, Sturgis laid back on the grass, the puppy bolting from his arms to chase some gnome as Sturgis shut his eyes. “I want to play quidditch forever. I want to be able to soar through the clouds as a job, and not have to worry about menial things, but... Then I think about what I want in the future and I think about a family and things like that.” Shooting back up, he laughs. “It’s all right here in front of us. This weight that feels like it’s going to swallow me whole, it’s.... It’s wonderful and terrible at the same time....” Blinking, he relaxed into a slow grin. “And this... this is the part where you tell me to shut up and relax.”

“Okay, but I need you to not say anything about me having him here. Look at him. He’s precious, and adorable. He can be a quidditch mascot. He’s like the perfect Ravenclaw, too, super smart. Smarter than me anyway.” Sturgis explained as the pup looked around at all the surroundings with intent curiosity. “Please don’t tell anyone, I think I’d die of a broken heart if Flitwick took this guy away from me.”

He smiled, ducking his head and shaking it. The motherly feeling he always got from Em was welcomed, but sometimes he wished she could just have some fun with him. “Nah, but I did have a near death experience with my Pa, got knocked clear across a field by a dragon tail while studying them in Scotland this summer.... think there’s some lasting trauma?” He teased, small grin on his face. “Well to be fair, that’d be quite the kiss depending on the stunt he was pulling. But also, to be fair, I’d rather be kissing someone like you, without the risk of getting hexed of course.”

She always was the more aloof of them. Head in the clouds and all that, sometimes literally. Grinning as he walked with her, he hummed. “Did the Giant Squid bother you? I hear that poor creature’s been particularly grumpy this year. Grabbed Davies and literally flung him halfway across the lake.”

“Oh come now, there’s always concern for my fellow student.” He offered as he ducked his head. “But yes, a full day and then it’s a race. I’m sure you’ll keep me up on my toes, Greta.” He added, raising his brows. “Come on, lets get back inside and you can tell me all about how classes are going for you. Because I know they’re going quite a way for me this year.”

Almost like his child, he covered his broom defensively. “She’s Irish made. Cherrywood from Kerry.” He informed her matter of factly. “What’s in the forest that’s got you so kept, hm? Anything good?” Jumping for a moment, sheer excitement on his face. “Did you see one of the centaurs? They’re so cool, I can’t even deal. Like this one, I forget his name but blonde hair and what not, he told me I would play a pivotal role for a classmate that week and I totally saved ol’ Lucius from choking with a Heimlich. Clutch.... despite having to touch Lucius.”

Sturgis smiled at the girl, canting his head at her. “But it was pretty epic right?” He said, draping his broom over his shoulders before she went on saying that she might be down for a good old run ‘round the castle. Despite wanting nothing more than to fly once more, Sturgis hummed. “I don’t know about that, but I do know that tomorrow night is another night to tempt fate. You know the groundskeeper will be making ‘rounds soon, and I’d rather not get you in trouble.”

Grinning, he figured if anyone knew their limit, it would be Alice. Sighing, he flopped down next to her and leaned his head on his hand. “I will look at this list and help you finish whatever there is on it that I can aid you with. And if there’s nothing, then I will just keep you company. Now that sounds like a fair trade, but only you would know for sure. So... Sound good?”

At least someone appreciated his antics. Smiling at Wendy, he raised a brow. “Oh, is that so.” He teased, nudging her before he swung his broom up, heading back to the castle. “Last I checked, you’re quite the quick learner. Lets hope you get used to not hanging by the posts all day long.” Another teasing grin before he started walking. “So what’s brought you out on this lovely moon filled night?”

He chuckled at the girl, always intrigued by how she interpreted life and ever respectful of the way she simply took everything for it’s simple beauty. “Ah, Syb. I wouldn’t make you race, I’d only try to take you on all the best routes I know.” Tossing his broom over his shoulder, he walked with her towards the castle entrance. “So what brought you out here so late, hm? Did you find anything fun in the lake?”

“Holy... shit. Alice, are you sure that’s good for... well any body part? Stomach and heart included. I’m sure your brain’ll be fine, a little overdosed, but.... majoritably fine.” He murmured as he looked her over. “Christ, it’s like you’re trying to turn yourself into a fiend of some sort. Some spaz machine.” Of course coming from Sturgis, that was a rather laughable sentiment. He was usually an infectious ball of energy all his own. “What d’you need that much energy for anyway?”
Alice was sat in the courtyard, a book balancing on her leg, a steaming mug in her hand — she was already short on sleep. “I call it an espresso squared — two double espresso’s thrown together in a big mug,” she said, before taking a sip of her mug and looking up. “It’s just an atomic bomb of energy, works fuckin’ miracles.”

“I treasure my ability to deduce the aerodynamics of broom work in art, Macmillan, and if that isn’t wit, then I don’t want to live in a world where it’s considered anything else.” At her last comment, he perked a brow. “I’ll have you know there’s a brain under this head of hair that some people adore. And you would too.... Didn’t a certain strong jawed chaser beat you out on your transfiguration O.W.L.S. ?” He quipped, tilting his head.

✧*:・゚✧ ( C, HE|HIS|HIM, OLD MAN (26), EST|CST ) merlin! is that ZAC EFRON? no, it’s just STURGIS PODMORE the SEVENTH YEAR & RAVENCLAW ( PUREBLOOD ). we’ve heard rumors that HE ( CISMALE ) is GENUINE, WARM & PROTECTIVE but can also be very SPASTIC, CALLOUS & BLUNT. if i had to pick one song to describe PRONOUN it would OF ALL THE GIN JOINTS IN ALL THE WORLD by FALL OUT BOY. Good luck with the rest of your time at Hogwarts.
Resident goofball, mystery Ravenclaw, it’s no secret that 90% of Hogwarts wondered how Sturgis wound up in the house of wit. Having a tendency to come off as aloof, he’s solely here to make people smile and to be the very best quidditch player he can manage to be while still amazingly acing every single class and exam thrown at him though no one has ever seen him actually touch a book. Sturgis is the one person in Ravenclaw tower who prides his wit on it’s unnoticed brilliance and only allows few past the impenetrable pearly whites of his smile to really see how the machinery works behind the bright blue eyes.
Sturgis is immensely protective over those he loves, never sparing a second thought when it comes to being honest or straight forward, and he will gladly tell off any bloke who tries to hit on his female friends while listing at least ten reasons why they’re not fit for that particular person.
Sturgis’s whole life’s dream is to become the foremost seeker on the English Quidditch Team, while become the most skilled play designer for the sport. And if all else fails, well... There’s always working for the department of magical sports in the ministry. After all, who could be better to host the next tri-wizard tournament than himself?

Sturgis was always in the mood for a challenge. And when someone dared him to try to fly around the school in the fastest time past dark, well... He couldn’t very well say no, could he? Once he was done (In a matter of minutes), he landed swiftly to find someone waiting for him down on the ground. “I know, I know. How dumb of me to try that, knowing full well I could go on and get hurt, yeah? But it was brilliant. My best time ever. Next time you should come along.”
