Family Dynamic Au

Patton

He’s got big single dad vibes

He try but fails not to be a helicopter parent

He’s got separation anxiety, he’s just so scared of his babies getting sick or hurt or worse

He wants to be in a relationship but doesn’t want to spring anything on his kiddos

He never really yells, that doesn’t mean he isn’t firm

He makes sure he’s following ever social media his kids have

Everyone calls him momma bear because papa bear doesn’t feel right

Janus

He doesn’t currently have a official place in the family as Patton doesn’t wanna rock the boat by introducing his boyfriend

He isn’t great with kids, sometimes he’ll snap and hurt one of there feeling without meaning to

There was an incident with Virgil and now the boy no longer talks to him

Patton and him are madly in love but Janus is the only person Patton has ever yelled at

Janus is much kinder than people presume him to be he just has problems talking to people

Virgil

He’s Patton’s youngest son at the age of 16

He is a really faint presence in the house, floating from one place to another silently

He spends a lot of time in his room and only really talks to his boyfriend

Patton is worries about him a lot as he suffers from serious anxiety

He’s refused again and again to go to a therapist

Janus once told him that he was a “ghost child made only to mindlessly float”

Logan

Logan is the oldest son at the age of 18

He gets into debates with Janus a lot as Janus is stubborn and he is smart

He spends most of his day burried in his book

If he’s not reading he’s cooking, Patton may be a good baker but he sucks at cooking so Logan took on the responsibility

Logan is the only son who’s ever met there step father........ he didn’t like him

He’s got OCD but didn’t want it to effect his learning so he takes medication

Logan hates his fathers puns with a passion but finds himself slipping up and saying one once and a while

Roman

Roman is Virgil’s boyfriend but practically family

He is shorter than Virgil which kills him

He doesn’t like talking about his and Remus’s home life just that they have to have each other’s back

He and Remus are twins and everyone around then swear they know when anything is happening to the other

He’s really good at theater but incredibly insecure about it

The Sanders family has only seen him cry once but hated it none the less

He spends almost all of his time chilling in the Sanders house

Remus

He’s Logan’s best friend but does indeed have a major crush on him and refers to him as his boyfriend in his head

He shares Roman’s view on their home life and would kill for his brother

He once got into a fist fight with a kid over how good or bad Roman was at theater and had to sit through Logan lecturing his about safety for an hour

He’s into a lot of really gruesome things and had trouble reading feeling with anyone but his brother

Janus has been a big dad figure in his life even though Roman doesn’t like him because of something he won’t talk about

He has a pet frog named mold that he keeps under Logan’s bed because he can’t bring him home

Roman theory I think about daily:

Roman has a morally black and white view of the world because the original Creativity was quite literally split into black and white.

Remus does not have this mentality, however. He ignores the concept of good and bad: “Good and bad is all made up nonsense”. Probably because when (presumably) Patton split the sides, such “morally grey thinking” must have been a big no-no in past-Pattons eyes. We see Patton grow and learn that he was wrong, but Roman is only one half of a full side, existing only because of Patton’s definition of “good”. The need to always be “good” is a core part of Roman’s identitiy because it is the reason why he exists.

Roman is “controlled creativity” or the “Netflix kids” of creativity. Carrying aspects approved by Patton. Remus is “uncontrolled creativity”. He isn’t bound by Patton’s rules: he is what cannot be bound by morality. This is why we see Remus a lot more secure about himself. He doesn’t care what people think about his ideas because he’s allowed to do whatever he wants: “There’s no rhyme or reason to what I do, I just do”.

Remus is like an anonymous cursed comment on the internet, while Roman is a speech given at a wedding. He can’t just say whatever. There’s a lot more at stake. Roman’s creativity serves a specific purpose rather than existing just because. Which also means that Roman can either succeed or fail at fulfilling said purpose. If Roman fails at his purpose, why is he here? What makes him different from his brother?

If Netflix kids isn’t actually kid-friendly, why have them be separated from the rest of Netflix?

If Roman isn’t GOOD, what purpose does he have to exist?

If there is no clear “good” or “bad” to any of the sides, what was the point of splitting in the first place?

Roman and Remus are my two favorite Sanders Sides characters but it makes sense if the twins combined to make “creativity” again. To get our full Netflix back.
