thursday, april 8th • an honest bujo flip-thru on 98ths

when we first entered shelter-in-place, i somehow managed to stay motivated and largely productive + creative for pretty much an entire year, but then when my ~*pandemic anniversary*~ hit it’s like a switch just turned off and i lost so much of my motivation and interest in things 😓

but you know what! sometimes bullet journals are unfinished! sometimes you don’t strike off most of your habit tracker! sometimes you don’t feel like partaking in what you used to enjoy! and even though this feeling might suck! i’m really trying to remind myself not to be extra hard on myself when this does happen!!

My Notion Setup For Spring 2021!

Today

To start off, we have my today page, which is essentially my home base on Notion. This is where I have my routines as drop-down toggles links to my class pages and goals, and I also have a linked database where I plan out when I’ll do all my tasks. If I click on the list it takes me to the page with all of my planned out to-do’s, but when I’m on my Today page it only shows me the tasks that I’ve set for that particular day so I know exactly what I need to get done. It sounds slightly complicated but once it’s set up it’s such a breeze to use and I don’t know what I’d do without it tbh! I’ve been using this linked database system for about 6 months or so and it’s a total lifesaver, if y’all want a tutorial or a template or something on it just let me know!

Academic Hub

Next up is my Academic Hub, where I keep all my school information and links. Within this, I have pages for each of my classes which I’ll talk about next, as well as other linked pages that help keep me organized. I also love having a quote at the top of my “hub” pages that are relevant to the page since they keep me motivated and inspired. I also have another linked database where I keep a calendar of all my due dates for the quarter. I’m on spring break right now so I don’t have any dates or notes entered in yet for the quarter, but I will soon!

Class Pages

For each class that I’m in, I make a page that can be the home for all things related to the course. I keep the information about when the class meets, the Zoom ID and the link to the class page on Canvas all handy at the top (plus the link to the syllabus if it’s online rather than a pdf). Then I have a list where I keep all my class notes, though I don’t have any in there just yet. I also have another linked database beneath that, which links to the due dates calendar, this one only showing the due dates for the particular class that the page is about (for example, this one would only show due dates for my English class)

Study Hall

And the last page that I’ll be sharing today is my study hall page, which is basically a checklist that I go through to help get myself into a focused mindset. I don’t do all of these every single time I want to work, but it’s handy if I’m having a hard time getting started on schoolwork. I also have a page linked with a list of study break ideas, and I like to pick one out to do once I’m done with my study session since that helps to motivate me. I also embedded two study playlists from Spotify to the page, so I can easily just click on them and get some good instrumental music to study to without having to search around for them.

The weather has been nice for the past few days. We went from snow and rain to sunshine and it’s actually helping with my mood
