林檎: りんご (ringo) - apple/apple tree

梨: なし (nashi) - usually written using kana Japanese pear/ Asian pear/ sand pear/apple pear

蛙の子は蛙: かえるのこはかえる (kaerunokohakaeru) - like father, like son, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree; literal translation “the child of a frog is a frog”

I recently got these confused when doing a reading practice, so I thought I’d leave myself a note to remember!

行く　

pronounced- いく

meaning- to go 

masu form- 行きます

Example sentense- 学校に行きます

行う　

pronounced- おこなう

meaning- to perform, to hold, to carry out

masu form- 行います　

Example sentence- オリンピックは東京で行われました。
