Emptiness

The emptiness I feel

So alone and unwanted.

Can't get my mind off of the things I care about

But they can't get their mind thinking about me.

They may want something eventually,

But as of right now, I'm nothing to her.

No relationship, only friendship for years on end.

Been told "You're the best" and "You'd be the perfect boyfriend."

Getting led on, leaned against,

The shoulder to cry on when she's sad and has no one.

Alas, I'm not the one,

At least that's what I've been told.

The feeling of nothing when she said

"I don't want a relationship" 

And then hearing that she might leave the state

That crushed my spirit and gave me this feeling

A feeling of emptiness and loneliness

Want to take her out for dinner

Go to the movies and cuddle

Tell her how I feel and how beautiful she is

But still she wants nothing

So it's still the emptiness I feel

From knowing she wants nothing.

I look to move on, what she asked me to do, 

I try and try but my mind always wanders back

To thinking about hugging and holding her

Staring into her beautiful eyes and smiling

Holding her hand 

Being the happiest I've ever been,

But then I realize, she still wants nothing,

I'm just a fool for trying to convince myself otherwise.

So I'm a fool in love

A guy staring into the girl of my dream's eyes

And wishing and hoping that one day

One day, we can be together.
