'Kampung' Durian I n Melaka. One of the few times I had durian, this one would worth its value. At RM7 for the whole durian, and such delicate flesh with small seeds, the price is really hard to beat. 62nd Merdeka Salute. Merdeka has always been a mixed bag to me as I've never really understand the meaning of merdeka, apart from having a other public holiday and the occassional fireworks here and there. I remembered patriotic songs being played before assemblies throughout the month during my schooling days, none treated it as important. I do remember some famous merdeka songs like Jalur Gemilang, Keranamu Malaysia and Malaysia Berjaya. Thinking back, the song Malaysia Berjaya was taught to us during my primary school days by the late Mr. Goh, our 'Penolong Kanan Kokurikulum'. I still remembered the day when he fell off the stage during his speech on one of our morning assemblies. The fall landed on his head and soon after, he was no longer with us. Remembering Mr. Goh everytime I hear the tune.... Malaysia kita sudah berjaya Aman makmur bahagia Malaysia abadi selamanya Berjaya dan berjaya Berbagai kaum sudah berikrar Menuju cita-cita Satu bangsa satu negara Malaysia berjaya Dari Perlis sampailah ke Sabah Kita sudah merdeka Negara makmur rakyat mewah Kita sudah berjaya Dengan semboyan kita berjaya Menuju di angkasa Satu bangsa satu negara Malaysia berjaya A passionate yet strict teacher, I occassionally being canned by him due to my mischiefs, Mr. Goh will always be remembered. I asked about him and he told me that the tattoos on his body is a cultural one. Apparently, it is related to his adulthood or to signify him as a grown man.
