I liked the theory, but I think there’s a problem. From what I know, Ganondorf being evil is BECAUSE Demise curses Link when he dies. There’ll forever be evil, Link will forever have to fight it, etc etc. Ganondorf existing as the villain BEFORE Demise dies kind of...downplays that? It basically makes Demise’s entire curse pointless, and I don’t think they’ll do that. Thanks for the theory, though!
THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: BREATH OF THE WILD FAN THEORY 『PART 1/?』
Okay so I have multiple theories about where BotW can take place in the timeline. This is purely SPECULATION and in no way true. The first one I’ll approach is this:
BotW takes place BEFORE Skyward Sword. Hear me out.
I’ll begin with the name. Breath of Wild. The game is so dependent on nature - on Hyrule - and has been the major focus of the Zelda E3 conference. You interact with nature. You are sheltered by natured. You are hunted by nature. The name and just general atmosphere are just so organic it feels primitive. It is a raw wilderness, it just feels like the beginning of thousands of years of history. Hence why its before SS.
Completely juxtaposing the natural aspect of the game is the technology found in not only the shrines and Sheikah Slate, but scattered throughout the land. The only other Zelda game with technology that comes close to it is Skyward Sword in the Lanaryu Mines, which are already thousands of years in decay and can only be activated through time stones. Since Link has been shown to manipulate time in BoW, perhaps the time stones in SS are direct products or time rifts created by Link in BoW.
Next is the lack of rupees. Throughout all the Zelda games, rupees could be found in the dirt, in caves, in dungeons, in grass, in pots, in caves, etc. No matter where you are in the timeline, Link can find rupees almost anywhere - including SS - due to the fact that they have been the means of currency since ancient times and are in great abundance. The fact that there are no rupees yet in BoW shows that they are a new means of currency, not yet scattered around the world, indicating that the wilderness is still a frontier.
more speculation: I know Miyamoto and the shrines mentioned Ganon, and Demise is the first villain in the timeline, but the triforce existed before Demise. Link, Zelda, and Ganon are the triforce. They were one and were probably allies at first. My theory is that Demise corrupted Ganondorf with the promise of more power in order to achieve his goal of world domination by stealing the triforce - hence the vast amounts of enemies in BoW and lack of people. In Hyrule Historia, it is stated that Demise gathered an army of monsters to wage war against Hylia protector of the triforce. That explains why Ganon is the main villain, he was corrupted.
The whole ‘resurrection temple’ scene could be Link awakening as a manifestation of the Triforce of Courage, as Zelda - the voice - guides him with her wisdom.
I know there are a lot of loop-holes and many things we don’t know, but this is just a fan theory, after all. I might add more to this, or just move on to my second theory. Either way, thanks for reading! Feel free to message me and we can discuss theories together !

I wonder if the announcement of the all Japanese cast for the FMA movie is due to the backlash (if any) for the whitewashing of Death Note (a story set in real world Japan, with Japanese characters, who are Japanese).
Of all things they could have chosen, why do you pick the one with canonical white characters and a racially diverse cast, where race is an important plot point
