Finally got myself to watch the fan letter episode.

Execpt for Aces and Whitebeards death, the original marineford arc wasnt that sad/horrific to watch. Its was just more fun to watch all the cool characters fight.

The soilders and pirates was just extras so their deaths werent imapactful. But these shots showed the war as an actuall horrible war. And this guy wouldnt have been killed in battle, he was pinned down under water.

Those scenes in war movies where soilders die from drowning from not being able to get off their heavy gear or get dragged down with ships have always impacted me more than soilders getting shot or stabbed.
