scurvy has got to have one of the biggest disease/treatment coolness gaps of all time. like yeah too much time at sea will afflict you with a curse where your body starts unraveling and old wounds come back to haunt you like vengeful ghosts. unless☝️you eat a lemon

Honestly, if you see an angel that’s all eyes and wings and wheels of fire, you should be worried. Like, not because it’s going to hurt you or anything, but because scripturally, angels invariably appear to ordinary people in human form. In general, they only show their inhuman true forms to prophets – which means if you’re seeing them like that, they come bearing responsibility.

Be the Vegeta in your own life
Recently, I found something that has helped with my motivation to do things in a way I didn’t intend: I started thinking of myself as the Vegeta in my own life.
It started as a joke, almost self-deprecating: I feel like I was much better at doing things when I was younger, but lately feel like I’m falling behind. Any job I really want, I’m just a little under qualified for. I don’t think I’ll ever reach the limit I want when I’m working out and in shape. When I audition for shows, there’s always someone better than me, or more suited to the role. Things like that. I’m like Vegeta, and there’s always a Goku ahead of me.
And then I realized…yeah, but isn’t that okay? Because Vegeta is always second best, but he’s always so motivated to push himself further than he can go. He’ll never be the best, but he’s still great.
And you know what? It worked. I started going back to the gym recently, with the mindset that I’m not going to be the best, but fuck it, I’ll be Vegeta and try harder than anyone else to get the results I want. And I’m more motivated! I’m accomplishing more! I’m pushing past my negative thinking because if Vegeta doesn’t give up, neither will I.
I don’t know if this would help anyone else, because it’s very niche, but it’s okay if you can’t be the best. You can still be Vegeta. And that means you can still be great.
