How to draw The Captain (Ghosts) In My Style!

I saw this post and went “hey! I used to do that!” and I’m bored so I wanted to talk a little about my character design philosophy. This is mainly a ramble lol.

When designing the ghosts in my style, I used a lot of shape language to help keep everyone distinct. Captain here is all about the triangles because of his sharp and rigid personality. Despite this, however, there are areas of softness to help his face feel more dynamic with squashing and stretching.

Fun fact! The main inspiration for The Captain is snooty/butler characters from older cartoons! I wanted him to look like he’s judging you at a moments notice.

The biggest inspo for him happens to be Mr. Harriman from Fosters Home
