i feel im very t4t and would genuinely love your thoughts on the insular t4t cult mindset u mentioned bc i havent stopped to really consider it in that type of way and i rlly value the thoughts and takes u share on here!!

i am firmly situated in the dating positionality of a femme dyke and for me being courted not on that basis but on the basis of my being a trans woman is not flattering to me. it communicates to me that there is less an appreciation of my presentation and the way that i carry myself and the role i choose to adopt in (b-f dyke) dating dynamics and more a pull toward me because i have a trans body.

t4t transfem lesbians have historically struggled to court me correctly because in their usual dating circles there is an overlap bw peoples interests and hobbies and sociality. i think that a lot of these girls struggle to reconcile the overfamiliarity they are used to having w a lot of their peers in those circles w the fact that there are trans women, even trans women who are also lesbians, that do not have the same conception of transfemininity or lesbianism that they do. when these girls make assertions on here about fundamental aspects of transfemininity or the transfem lesbian experience they are lucidly not factoring the experiences of anyone but the women in their immediate social circles.

i understand why people wind up in these social circles because life as a trans woman is extremely alienating but if you are having to close ranks on every trans woman that does not agree with you on assertions you make about the transfem community writ large you have probably in some meaningful way been indoctrinated.

i just want to see my sisters free of this weird reactionary shit. sisterhood should not be reserved to the trans girls that let you call them 'sis' in the bedroom lol
