It means the things that bask in light filled shadow are lurking in the shadows created by the light. The shadows are created by something stopping the light from shinning everywhere. Thus shadows are formed.

OK, something is going on here.

Either things have gone way off the hook in the world or I am losing it, completely.

I was watching one of my science shows last night. The one we chatted about last week, the one about our common ancestor hundreds of millions years ago. The episode last night that I tried to watch was on the beginning of plant life. And how it began with cooperation between fungi and algae.

That is beside the point.

The point I wish to make here was a single comment they made on the locale that this origin may have taken place. They said,

“They bask in the light-filled shadows.”

Tell me I am not losing my mind. Tell me that makes no sense at all.

If it does, please please put me out of my misery.

I had to turn it off. I didn’t erase it.

Yet.

I just need a moment.

I’m a’thinkin’.

I probably started on Tumblr about 12 years ago. Perhaps a couple of you have been with me all that time.

Then in 2014 I deactivated Tumblr for some unknown mental fugue but quickly saw the error of my way and started it back up.

Then there was the Tumblr irritation of 2018 at which point I added MeWe to my quiver and, well, you probably have been along for the ride from somewhere in there to today.

This preamble leads to today’s topic: New Year’s

Somewhere back in the distant past, possibly very early on in my adventure, I posted a special New Year’s celebratory post.

What I was going for was the traditional old man time closeout of the year and the new baby beginning of the year.

My post was me, as I recall, totally like the baby, naked.

I didn’t bother with the old man time. That will come way too soon as it is.

I even wondered if I should have done the naked post, but I did anyway.

Of course it is lost in time. And I have no idea which year it was for but my guess is it is pretty far back.

And we know, I don’t keep any old stuff. I try, as soon as I post something, it is erased.

But tying into a recent post about sweeties adding related pictures in the comments, such as Dano does on occasion, if any of you may have kept that January 1, 2xxx post, would you add it in a comment. I don’t even much remember much about it. And here, on New Year’s Eve, it would be cool to reprise it.

No pressure.
