So we all agree that Eddie will most likely end Season 7 checked into rehab, with Buck exercising his duty as Christopher's legal guardian?
right?

Just waiting for the scene after Tommy tells Buck he loves him the night before, and Eddie basically told Buck he had feelings for him like right after that (when he stops by after Tommy leaves), so that morning Eddie is at the firehouse looking for Buck, since they are both on shift, and Tommy stops by the firehouse to see Buck, and they run into each other and it's getting a little passive-aggressive...meanwhile, Buck is hiding in Bobby's office (literally hiding, he's sitting on the floor in the corner, even though the door is closed and no one can see inside) breathing into a paper bag while Bobby and Chimney try to cam him down

Someone else posted about this earlier and I agree so much, I need to say this too.
No... Eddie doesn't "indulge" Buck!!
Eddie matches his energy.
Eddie actively, eagerly instigates.
Eddie... is there to slap even MORE stupidity on the table!
They are both the instigators, troublemakers. They are equals. They are in sync!
Neither one is the "mature one", just humoring the other, babysitting, indulging.
They're both rearing to go, have fun, enjoy themselves.
When Buck is sad about Chimney missing the party? Suggest taking it to Chimney?
Eddie instantly launches into planning mode, into turning a vague plan into action, suggests everyone take an Uber to the hotel.
How does Buck react? Does he hesitate?
No, Buck immediately thinks this absolutely insane suggestion is a great idea!!
Buck has no key.
Eddie wants to kick in the door!!!
Buck? Happily joins him!!
They are the chaos, together!!!
Neither one is sitting back, indulging - they are a team, a shared (admittedly not super bright) brain.
And I love it!!! They're freaking soulmates, both equally silly, dumb, energetic, into fun, ready to meet the adventure. They're two sides of the same coin, together.

Update on getting my (24f) ex/current coworker (28m) to watch 911:
Man laid down a £50 bet with £10 interest per year that buddie will never be cannon. (This means that every season that buddie is not cannon, I will owe him an extra £10 when the show ends BUT when buddie goes cannon he will owe me £50+(no. of seasons x 10))
We’re both up waiting for 1am and the streams to go live, I just sent him the preview of Tommy showing up at the stag do and he asked to cancel the bet.
Man has watched 6.5 seasons and one scene has shaken his straight confidence.
MAN APOLOGISED and said he would not question my screenwriting degree again.
Man is now rooting for buddie.
I turned him.

The thing about Buck is that everyone wants a piece but nobody wants all of him, and the thing about Eddie is that he has a hard time wanting something with all of himself but that’s how much he wants Buck, and the thing about Buck is that he never knows what he wants or makes his own choices but he always chooses Eddie, and the thing about Eddie is that he only makes choices that are for the benefit of other people except he chose Buck for himself

We're not talking enough about how Maddie's "wow..." was her finally putting 2 + 2 together about Eddie.
Their convo revealed that Maddie didn't actually know about Buck's bisexual inclinations. But his coming out to her was entirely incidental and completely beside the point, to Buck.
The entire conversation was framed around Buck's hyperfocus on Eddie.
Maddie knows her brother so well, knows his abandonment trauma, the well of grief and loss he carries around inside of him. One that they share, only he spent most of his life not knowing what it even was.
She knows Buck's yearning for a family of his own, his search for a partner, a great love story. How she would have witnessed Buck getting more and more deeply embedded in Eddie and Christopher's life. While his own romantic life was a mess, at best. How she might sometimes worry he could get hurt, his attachment to them holding him back in finding love for himself, that life partner he longs for. Ultimately, she does understand and leaves it be. Sure, what Buck has with Eddie and Chris is unusual, but they fulfill a longing and make him happy. That's all that matters to her.
But she's always had this slight...not doubt, exactly, but a wonder. That she's missing something. She knows Buck is utterly safe with Eddie, that Eddie is his best friend and would die to save Buck's life, so it's not that. It's just this nagging thought that there's something else there...just out of reach...she can't quite put her finger on it.
Buck being bisexual (excuse me, an ally), was that missing puzzle piece, finally slotting into place.
Long story short, "wow" = "Buck is in love with Eddie, it all makes sense now."
I just think this scene was so expertly written and performed, showcasing all of these layers of story at once. I 💜 911 and Oliver and JLH.
Please miss me with the "Maddie is going to acost Eddie and/or Buck about being in love with each other" takes, like this is a sitcom. The root of this is Maddie's deep, abiding, tender care for her brother and the profound, aching wound of abandonment and unresolved grief that they share. She is going to hold this knowledge so, so gently.

I need a scene after Eddie and Marisol break up where he’s complaining about his love life to Hen and says “hey maybe I’ll just stick with Buck. Tried and tested - that works.” and she laughs and says “well he does like guys too, he’d probably be happy with that” and Eddie is just like 😲💡

Eddie coming to terms with his sexuality and then coming out to Buck in the most fucked up and romantic way possible - by telling him "I reached for you. I was lying in the street thinking this was it, that I was dying and all I wanted was to touch you one more time".

but like fuck just imagine. imagine it. your best friend’s shot right in front of you and there’s a moment where time stands still. where it’s just you and him and the red string that keeps you in each-other’s orbit. and then he’s falling to the ground and bleeding out and you drag yourself under a fire truck to save him. and you get him inside and it’s a flurry of motion, sirens blaring as you press your hands into his broken skin trying to hold him together. you beg him to stay with you as you scream yourself hoarse, and the only words he manages to say before he lets go is are you hurt? and he’s wheeled through the hospital doors away from you, and your captain told you once long ago that you don’t go beyond the glass doors, but that’s fine. your heart’s lying somewhere on a gurney inside anyways. everything slots together in a dizzying motion and oh. it’s him. it always has been. this. this goes beyond friendship. it always has. you love him to the core.
