Thinking about mutual misunderstanding but it’s not a bad thing they are misunderstood about.

Like, one day arthur sees eames in a dreamscape and overhears him saying “I think Arthur is quite lovable” to someone. arthur goes all gooey and mushy, so after waking up, he acts differently, but GOOD differently. he touches eames subtly, gives him affectionate looks, goes all out on arthur-in-love-acts-of-services-package, you know, the whole thing. and eames is so pleasantly surprised and finally finally thinks that his love is requited and goes along with it. but neither of them know what Arthur heard was someone else’s projection of eames talking fondly about Arthur.

or the time when Arthur and eames are in their sort of coworkers with benefits/I like you a lot stage and eames dreams that Arthur says the L word to him and sth makes him think it was the reality and he just. acting as a lover in return? and Arthur is thrown, but only mildly cause they’ve been circling around that territory for some time so he sees eames making the effort and he also returns the favour? And they go from friends to sth more?? and end up being idiots in love????? you feel me????
