I did. I received Lady Midnight as a gift in 2017 just months before the release of Lord of Shadows. I loved the book but there were a lot of blanks I had to fill. So I missed a lot of world building and ended up relying a lot of deductive reasoning and previous knowledge of different mythologies to understand it. After I finished I waited two months and got Lord of Shadows as soon as I could. It wasn’t until after that I discovered the original six books and I bought and read those in a heartbeat. Then I reread lord of shadows and lady midnight. It was only then that got a more complete understanding of the books. I do remember knowing already about the battle of burren, exactly how Sebastian died, and the infernal cup when reading tmi. Of course, from there I moved on to the infernal devices and I read the bane chronicles and Tales of the Shadowhunter Academy before queen of air and darkness came out but it was worth the wait. By that point it had already become my favorite series. I think tda holds more weight with me because of the way I did it but it was harder to understand.

Has anyone started reading TSC by The Dark Artifices Series?

If so, out of curiosity, how was the experience? Because I imagine the first two book must have seemed okay to follow, but Queen of Air and Darkness was so full of references to other sagas that it seems strange to imagine someone reading it before knowing about TMI and TID.

To move to LA from Chicago my parents drove our fucking asses and it took FIVE DAYS. Y’all west coasters are fucking babies, and to think I have to live with yalls. Besides we road trip regularly all over the country. I once was on the road for two weeks. I’m with this Melissa person you west coasters could use a hard core lesson is road trips. (And weather) it’s a pain on the ass but if you make the most of it it’s a lot more fun than flying.

Lemme get straight to it my rwby fam. STOP CALLING ROSEGARDEN PEDO!!!!! They are at most 2 years apart. But honestly it’s probs more like 1 1/2. Just cause Lindsay said Ruby is 17 doesn’t make it true she’s a VA not a producer show runner or writer. They show the passage of time through seasonal imagery in the show. You can count how long it’s been since season 1 when ruby was fifteen. It’s been about a year or a little over. Ruby is 16 Oscar is 14. Even if she was 17 three years isn’t a big deal. By that logic pls don’t ship Ruby with anyone because she’s two to three years YONGER than the rest of her peers. Besides ruby and Oscar are just cute and the show pushes that HARD. In cannon their relationship is full of understanding, similar hardships, emotional support and soft smiles. The fandom has cute hugs and cheak pecks. There’s nothing weird or creepy about that. The other stuff can wait till Thor much older. And let’s be quite frank, if the age gap was reversed and/or the hight gap, so that Oscar was older and taller, most of u wouldn’t have a problem. Proven by the amount of people who follow Lancaster. If anything this is a sexism issue. Y’all can’t just let a woman have the same romantic rights as a man. Not to mention, on a personal note, my mother is 1 1/2 to 2 years older than my father which is the exact Rosegarden age gap and my parents have been happily married for thirty years and successfully raised three children. Are you gonna tell me my moms pedo??? Just cause she’s 50 and my pops is 48???? They had been dating since high school. It’s the same thing. It’s more common than people think. There’s nothing wrong about the Rosegarden ship. Thank you for coming to my ted talk.
