Hello and welcome to Story Spruiks! The place to come and recommend (spruik) your favourite fics, and to leave a little review so that people might get a glimpse at what made the fic so special to you. We are tracking #storyspruiks, so you can post reviews from your own blog & we will reblog them, or you can submit your spruiks here. All fandoms, genres and ratings are welcome!

The only rule is to keep your reviews positive; writing fanfiction is a labour of love, and this is not the place for criticism or negativity.

Below the cut is a suggested format for spruiks that you can use, if you would like a place to start. We will also have a sister community at pillowfort ready to use soon!

Fandom: Fandom Word count: Rating: Ao3's ratings system is great to use for this Complete?: Yes/No/She's in limbo Key Characters: Just the ones that play a major role, please! Pairings (if any): Again, just major ones, thanks Major Tropes: You can tag for these, too! Citrus Scale: Some old-school fun Warnings: You can add your own warnings, or include whatever the author did when they shared the work. Spruiks: (out of five, yes, these are just stars) ★★★★★ ☆☆☆☆☆ (some empty stars to use for an incomplete scale, like this > ★★★★☆) You can even have a half-star, but not everyone can see it: ⯨ Review: You can write as little or as much as you want here. What you loved, what the author did well or what makes it stand apart from others in the fandom. As with a book review, try to keep it spoiler-free, or put spoilers under a cut if you are simply feeling too passionate. keysmash is definitely allowed. Don't overthink it! I literally do this all the time. You can address it to the author as you would in a comment if you like, but this should be addressed at potential readers as well. That's what spruiking is! Make people love the thing you love!
