Joel had be raised in a small fishing town in northern Russia. He had been raised on mainly fish as it’s the major resource the town had access to. Recently the local fish population seemed to be different to him. He could have sworn fish typically only had two eyes, but when a hungry boy is served food he will eat. As he continued to eat these strange fish he began to change. His skin became a sickly green color and he began to grow in size. According to the only “doctor” in town his affliction was a medical anomaly. His parents decided that it must be the odd fish that he had been eating, but there wasn’t many more options in their town. They began saving to move Joel to a better location.
As they were saving he continued to grow and grow and began acting slightly strange, almost like his mental facilities were slowing down as his body rapidly grew. His family made a little tradition to make sure he was ok, the would ask him if he was feeling “Joel-ly” to see if he was still feeling like himself during this affliction. He always claimed he was feeling perfectly fine as to not worry his parents.
Eventually his parents saved enough money to get Joel to the Ukraine where he wouldn’t ever have to eat irradiated fish ever again. At this point Joel’s mind had deteriorated quite a bit, he had also grown very large and his skin was becoming a brighter shade of green. He took up most of a train-car all by himself on the ride to the Ukraine.
When he arrived they asked him what his name was and he responded with “Joely”. So from then on Joely the Green Giant spent his time harvesting different crops with the farmers in the Ukraine.

Sal had never amounted to much, even in the world of the salmons, no great feats attributed to his name. He was content with this fact, and was pretty happy his mundane life had kept him out of the way of predators.
But as the cold temperatures started warming he knew he had to swim upstream with the rest of his kind. It was his first time, but he was ready.
The white water rushing over the surface was what he expected, but what he hadn’t mentally prepared for was the creature sitting in the other side of the surface. This large brown creature just staring into the rushing water.
Sal knew this was a dangerous task. He had never done anything amazing but he knew this was his time. He steeled his resolve, started swimming toword the fuzzy legged freak, and simply said…
“I’m him”
