Her weary feet carried her into the apartment as she dropped her bag near the front door, but the sigh she let out was quickly followed with a smile when she heard elias calling out to her. “Great, I’m starving,” she called back, making her way into the kitchen and tucking a lock of blonde hair behind her ear. “It smells amazing,” she continued, though that was no surprise – unlike her, he was a great cook. “Uh.. It was work,” she said with a shrug, leaning in close so she could taste what he’d been working on. “Hm,” she reacted, closing her eyes to savor the taste. “Perfect.” Sure, they were broken up. And yeah, maybe this current dynamic wasn’t exactly a healthy one for exes, but .. How could she possibly bring that up, being so comfortable with him? “How was your day?”

he couldn’t help but tense upon hearing her exhausted sigh, maybe waiting for her to realize she wanted nothing to do with him, and maybe just receptive to her stress. elias gave her a small, sympathetic smile as she appeared in his kitchen, “tired? nobody yelled at you did they, because i’m prepared to hunt them down.” he set down the spoon that she had sampled from, and came around the counter to pull out a stool at the island for her, “sit, tell me about your day.” though he turned back towards the food, finishing everything was always his most involved process, mostly because he cared deeply about the plating and making sure that everything was right. he didn’t like when people felt the need to add to his food, he didn’t keep salt and pepper on his dining room table (though it was close by in case), and he liked for his meals to be balanced. “it was okay, i think the new rotisserie is gonna last the week, i had to take over the meat at the end to finish service - guy just fell apart.”

when talia heard a knock on her dressing room door, the last person she expected to see was her co-star - not because it was weird for them to talk or anything, but because the last time they’d seen each other, she had screamed at him. they were getting really close, despite her longterm boyfriend’s wishes, and she figured he wouldn’t respond to anything but yelling. apparently, that wasn’t enough. “what are you doing here?” she blocked the door, but knew that if he tried to push past, she wouldn’t be able to keep him out - did she really want to?

just as adonis realized he’d had enough of listening to his cute neighbor desperately calling his name, he heard the mystery stranger - who shared his name - leaving their building. he showered and got ready to do some spiteful shopping, but as he was leaving, the door a little down the hall from his opened again and out walked aforementioned cute neighbor. they hadn’t spoken much, and given his recent flood of emotion, he didn’t really know what to say, but she had seen him so he realized he should say something. “hey, neighbor,” he cringed at his own words but committed and continued, “long time, no see... what ya up to?” internally he was hitting himself, because he already knew what she was "up to".

do you like your name ? do you know its origins ? if you chose your name, what made you choose it ? if you didn’t choose it, would you change it if you could ?

"i feel like i got lucky, because my parents had lots of options, and of those, anahi was definitely the prettiest and most meaningful. my brother’s name is inspired by my mom’s, so the names based on my dad’s name were pretty... original. i’m named after my nona on my dad’s side, so it works out just the same. i never knew her, but dad says i’m just like her. i don’t think i would change it, or at least i haven’t found a name i like better.”

how many pillows do you sleep with ? do you prefer to sleep with a cold pillow or a warm pillow ?

"it really depends whether i’m by myself or not. if i’m alone, i have at least six pillows around me - seven if you include the one my cat sleeps on. i really prefer a cold pillow but a warm room, i can’t sleep if it’s too cold.”

do you believe in having luck, or is it just chance ?

"i believe luck comes from your mindset but chance is uncontrollable - so i don’t really argue one or the other. my family really believes in luck and that you control your luck with your actions, and sometimes that gives me hope. at times, thinking that life is a game of chance gives me hope, but other times i need to believe in good or bad luck. i’m just weird and superstitious.”

do you still pick up coins if they’re face-down / positioned for bad luck ?

"i don’t like to pick up anything off of the street, but if i find a coin inside, i think i’m too quick to grab before i notice the position it’s in. i don’t think bad luck comes from coins - spilling salt however...”

if you were offered free food / a free drink, but you didn’t like what was being offered, would you still take it because it’s free ?

“in terms of food, i’m definitely good if i don’t like it. if we’re talking about alcohol, i’ll drink anything as long as i’m sure it’s not drugged.”

what kind of milk do you prefer to drink, if you drink milk ? 2% / low fat / almond / oat / etc ? is there a reason behind that preference ?

“i switched to almond milk in college just because it lasts longer than dairy milk. we drank 2% at home and that’s what i was used to.”

if you were to hold someone’s hand while walking ( assuming you are okay with holding hands ) , how would you hold their hand ? loosely or tightly ? your whole hand, or just a few fingers ? would you swing your arms together as you walk ?

“i love holding hands, but it really depends on the weather. if it’s cold and i won’t sweat, i’m holding tightly with my whole hand, and there will definitely be some swinging. if it’s too hot and my palms are sweating, i’ll still use the whole hand but won’t press our palms together - there would still be swinging.”

if you like swimming, do you prefer swimming in freshwater, saltwater, or in a pool ?

“i love the ocean and the beach, but i really prefer a pool. i’m always scared that i’m gonna step in something and lose my foot in the ocean, but the worse thing i’ve stepped in at a pool was alcohol.”

do you have a process for washing your hair, or do you not care ?

“i mean, i use shampoo and conditioner and i brush my hair out before the shower. i like to put leave in conditioners in afterwards but that’s really it.”

are you good at puzzles ? do you enjoy puzzles ? do you prefer word puzzles or visual puzzles ?

“i’m good at most things i do, so i don’t do puzzles very often. i like crossword best, if i had to do one. don’t even ask me about sudoku, there’s no way.”

do you have a favourite genre of music ? do you enjoy listening to music ? do you listen to music to get your energy up or exercise ? do you listen to music to calm down or go to sleep ?

“i love all types of music. i tend to listen to pop more than others, but i’m really into female rappers. i listen to a hot girl playlist when i’m working out or cleaning the house. sometimes i listen to italian opera when i’m feeling down or miss my nona. i’ve just found out about white and pink noise, and i love those to sleep.”

do you like going on vacation ? where do you like to go ? what would your dream vacation be ? would you go alone, or with friends or family ?

“we went on lots of vacations when i was a kid, but i always liked the beach more than anything. with amusement parks, i had to deal with my brother complaining about the lines and mom always got a headache before we were ready to leave, but everyone was happy at the beach. it’s much better now that i can drink and all. my dream is to take the love of my life to italy and introduce them to my nona.”

would you rather have a roommate or live alone ?

“i had a random roommate my freshman year, and it was fine but very awkward, and i’m weird about trusting people with my stuff - especially my cat. i prefer to live alone, but i do get really lonely sometimes and wish i lived in a more sociable community.”

are you better at giving advice or receiving it ? are you good at helping people through problems ? are you good at working through your own problems ?

“i feel like i’m horrible at both giving and receiving advice. i’m a good sounding board but i’m also very unsure of myself and i can suggest things, but i would never act like i knew the best answer. while i may complain a lot, i work through problems mostly on my own - i think i’m pretty good at it.”

do you have a green thumb, or do you stay away from plants ?

“i can’t handle super finicky plants, and if they want to die, they will. that being said, i’m pretty good with plants who don’t need much work, and i’ve kept a whole shelf full of them alive. i wouldn’t say i’m good at it or anything, and i would never volunteer to keep anyone’s plants alive.”
