The Perfect Coffee Cup

The Perfect Coffee Cup is a subjective topic. We all have our likes, needs and wants and there is something about the vessels we use to deliver the dark nectar so many of us crave each and every day.

They speak of who we are and reveal a great deal about our character. Just think about it for a minute, generally in any given workplace each morning there will be a slow gathering and migration by the coffee machine.

Now the co-workers you may have that have their own cups are a different breed. That cup says this is ME. Each of those cups are going to be very different - ever notice the person who has the large coffee cup, yeah they get rationed on the office supply of coffee or at least have to wait until after the rest of the office has a chance to fill up.

Your co-workers and even you have very distinctive styles when it comes to coffee and how we drink it and more importantly what we use to drink it.

I have an uncle named Ollie who never washes his coffee cup. He says it makes the coffee taste different. Once he's through drinking his coffee each morning he sets his cup on the kitchen sink right near the faucet. A friend I worked with years ago had to have a Dunkin' Donuts Iced Coffee every morning - along with a Marlboro and pack of Mini-Thins. I'm not kidding, I watched him and this ritual of his every morning for about four years, talk about "waking up". And the real kicker was that he had to have the staff at Dunkin' Donuts make his iced coffee just perfect but then he would pour it into his own mug. He was very adamant about the New England Patriots Insulated Coffee Mug he used every day. Now I don't know if that coffee mug had that much to do with his coffee drinking but I'm sure it had everything to do with the New England Patriots, which is exactly my point, my friend had found the perfect coffee cup for him.

Besides algebra, the Arab world gave us coffee. I wonder what they drank their coffee out of? What kind of coffee cups did they use? Regardless, I know that they didn't have the choices we have today. You can find what you're looking for practically in any general merchandise store and the choices when shopping online are endless. My favorite recent find was the ceramic Darth Vader Mug I saw on Amazon. Now what would that say about the character of that coffee cup owner? We all know a Darth Vader Mug is definitely coffee cup cool, whether you're a George Lucas geek or not, but seriously there are people out there who wouldn't be caught dead with a Darth Vader Mug and there are others who'd believe they found the Holy Grail. It's all subjective and a matter of taste and choice. Maybe you just need one or maybe you would like to have one waiting for you at home AND the office. Espresso, Cappuccino, Latte or just plain black, regardless of what kind of coffee you drink there is a perfect coffee cup out there just for you.
