Was attempting another 70’s style wall paper pattern when I got sidetracked and influenced by the emperors new groove. So I present a wall paper pattern based on Kronk and Yzma
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The basic pieces for the pattern, Kronk on the left, Yzma on the right
Tumblr media
The block set up for the pattern

And patterned out three times.
I could see this as a background in the movie itself but it’s also a nice wallpaper look.

I like how in the show Kuzco's guards can be seen doing their little dance from the beginning of the movie once in a while, they just like being a bit groovy as well
Also during the fake dad coronation, they barely even try to fight the gang compared to how they went for blood on Pacha and llama-Kuzco in the movie. They were probably just going along thinking "he'll realize this weirdo isn't his father before things get too ugly... right? yah there he is"
And there's algo how they seem to be somewhat subservient to Kuzco in a way usually servants should be, carrying him in a palanquin, helping him prepare for picture day...
Maybe they're still meant to watch over Kuzco (if only just to confirm his death this time cause they ain't doing no security), maybe they hope to stay in his good graces when he's back on the throne, anyways I like their sublte bits of comedy that they add as well

@revegrande asked: in what ways does kuzco challenge or reinforce the dynamic between rulers and common people , especially in an empire setting that is ruled over by like birthright / marriage. also can we tell i recently rewatched the movie shushhh

This is another good one!
As Emperor, Kuzco wholeheartedly believes he is above EVERYBODY else in his Kingdom, and that they are expendable-- because that's how he was raised to believe. His lineage in relation to the Sun God keeps him on a pedestal above them all, and aside from the occasional summons or public audience where he has to pretend to care about their concerns, Kuzco only cares about them based on what they can do for HIM.
This is seen clearly in the beginning of the movie, when he assumes there wont be an issue with demolishing an entire village to build his summer home, and then after he's turned into a llama, demanding Pacha to help him back to the village despite his repeated threat to destroy his village. He thinks of him as nothing but a stupid peasant, who should be honored to have the chance to assist the Emperor in returning to his palace, and doesn't see anything wrong with acting the way he does.
None of this is true, obviously. Pacha teaches him not only how kind and selfless villagers can be, but also that they are resilient and by the end of the movie, he has a new found appreciation for them-- and not just because Pacha saved his tailfeather. He learns first hand how detrimental an effect destroying an entire village for his own gain would be, and how his people-- who already didn't care for him, not that he knew that-- would have a reason to hate him even more, and would possibly be okay with a regime change such as Yzma taking over.
I would say in the end, he challenges the dynamic, when he's seen hanging out with the peasants of Pacha's village, including the kids, and accepting a handmade gift from Chicha. As Emperor there is still a strict 'code' to follow, and he still should consider peasants beneath him-- but he throws that out the window for his found family, and makes a point to be more friendly and approachable to all of his people. And later, when he ends up having to stay with Pacha and his family as he attends a peasant school-- but that's a whole separate thing lol.
Thank you for these questions, and making me think about these things!
