⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀a bright smile adorns barbie's picture perfect features, warmth spilling into her gaze as she takes in what used to be a resident of barbieland. he has grown into his features a little more, which is to say that he's aged ; beautifully human, but barbie could still recognize beck out of an entire sea of people.

⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀she didn't understand what it was that he felt all those years ago, all that talk about feeling different — but she remembers telling him that barbie as a whole had always been about following your dreams, and that the sentiment didn't JUST have to resonate with the other barbie's — it could be for anybody.

⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀the next thing they had known, beck had disappeared off to the real world. one of the first barbies to achieve such a feat, celebrated for his bravery in venturing off into the unknown. back then, barbie didn't understand why he'd want to leave — she understood now.

⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀her smile only seems to brighten at his words, hands grasping his as she tries to contain her own excitement. while staying with gloria and her family had been a blessing in itself, barbie didn't want to impose any longer than she had to — and once she had seen beck on the tv, she knew the choice was no longer in her hands ; she had to seek him out.

⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀and that alone was not as easy as she had initially HOPED it to be. after a literal run on a soccer field and outrunning authorities for what felt like the fifth time ( who knew the real world had so many rules ? ) it was by some MIRACLE barbie didn't get dragged away to another holding cell. no, it was all thanks to him.

⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀❝ you have no idea just how much that truly means to me ! oh, i've missed you, we've all missed you so much ! i was so afraid you'd forgotten all about me, but as soon as i saw you on the little magical box, all of those fears just melted away and i knew i just had to come and find you. ❞ she bounces on the balls of her feet, pure happiness running through her veins at being reunited with an old friend. ❝ you look so wonderful, beck. ❞

while barbie can do essentially anything and be good at everything she lays her hands on — upon finding her place in the real world, she'd absolutely find the biggest comfort in just like. sitting in a park and sketching the people around her. barbie would love art, and how people can express themselves beautifully with whatever medium is at her disposal — every art piece in barbieland was the same, vibrant shapes or generic objects, there is no emotion behind ANYTHING.
