Last night, Derek talked to some random guy for all of 10 minutes before hooking up with him and subsequently having the best sex of his life. They parted ways early the morning after, with a promise to meet again soon… They meet sooner than expected. Turns out the guy who made Derek see God three times in one night is Stiles Stilinski, his company’s newest hire. Derek is the CEO and Stiles is his employee. Because of course. He can be cool about this – he just needs to feign their ‘first’ meeting and be professional. Derek does not need to think about how less than 12 hours ago Stiles had his legs spread exactly like that but wrapped around his waist instead… Yeah. Maybe he can’t be cool about this.

“It’s a pleasure to meet you,” Derek says, faltering. “Believe me,” Stiles replies. “The pleasure’s all mine.”

The ‘my family kept trying to set me up and despite being single I said I was dating to make them stop but then they came to visit and to make the lie seem real you agreed to be my fake partner so for 2 weeks we shared a bed, held hands, called each other babe, and played pretend but now they’ve left and we just kissed even though there was no one around to fake it for and huh yeah maybe it’s not quite pretend anymore we should probably discuss this further’ AU

Sterek AU: Best friends since childhood, Derek and Stiles have always been inseparable, from kindergarten, to college, to astronauts in the same crew. That is until an injury forces Stiles to remain on Earth while Derek takes off for a year long, dangerous space mission. When the news come that Derek has disappeared in space, and is therefore considered dead, Stiles feels his world crashing down around him.

But this isn’t the end. He knows deep down in his gut that Derek is still out there, alone, waiting for him. Loving him back. Stiles is going to find him, even if he has to search through the infinity of space for the rest of his life.

I see a lot of posts about how Stiles is Derek’s anchor, but I’d also like to add that Derek is Stiles’ anchor: the one thing he can’t get off his mind.

At the end of season 3b, Stiles tore down all of the stuff on his walls, trying to clear his mind and make sense of everything he’d been through.

But there was one thing he left behind, one thing he hadn’t yet made sense of or something he didn’t yet want to let go of: Derek. 

He still has the newspaper clippings, photographs and reports of the Hale House fire, all tangled up in red, but in the middle of it all is a string of blue. Red is unsolved, something he’s trying to make sense of and blue…

But there’s also something else: Season 3 is when Derek goes from being and Alpha to a Beta.

Red and blue.

No matter how much he clears his mind, no matter how much he puts aside the cases and the mysteries he gets caught up in, no matter how much he searches for answers, his mind always comes back to Derek.
