What a difference 50 years makes juxtaposition of BMW 2002 Turbo, 1973 and BMW Vision Neue Klasse, 2023. Fifty years ago at the IAA in Frankfurt the E20 turbocharged version of the 02 series was revealed. It was one of the world's first series production turbocharged cars. This year at the IAA Munich BMW have shown their prototype for the next generation of electric vehicles at the core of the brand

What a difference 50 years makes juxtaposition of Volkswagen Passat Variant, 1973 & Volkswagen Passat Variant, 2023. The new 9th generation Passat has been revealed for the European market. VW has sold more than 30 million Passats since the introduction of the Italdesign B1 however it has been withdrawn from the US market and the range has shrunk from the original 3 models to the single station wagon Variant. It will be built along side the closely related Škoda Superb and VW's Bratislava plant using the company’s MQB Evo platform. There remains a Passat saloon based on the MQB platform for the Chinese market.

Porsche 914 Fifteen Eleven Design, 2023 (1975). The classic & prestige arm of UK-based WRC team Mellors Elliot Motorsport have revealed a restomod 914 fitted with a Porsche Cayman 3.8S 6-cylinder engine and 6-speed transmission. Modifications include carbon fibre panels, Reiger coilover suspension and a Brembo braking system. The 3.8 litre engine has been reworked to offer between 380-400BHP, coupled with steel internals, forged pistons and a Life Racing ECU and power management system. The cars will be specced to individual buyer's requirements with pricing starting at starting at £350,000 ($442,512).

Fisker Rōnin, 2023. A folding hardtop "super GT convertible" that will be a new halo model for the Fisker brand who it goes on sale in 2025. The electric supercar will be based on a new aluminium space frame chassis, with integrated battery cells that will provide a range of 600 miles (966 km). Details of the electric powertrain have yet to be revealed but it provides over 1000hp and 0-60mph in “approximately 2 seconds” with the focus on driver enjoyment rather than autonomous technologies.

Chassis number 1121112 was originally delivered to the Lamborghini distributor for Rome, Italy, SEA Auto, who almost immediately had the car exported to the United States of America. Hal Needham. the movie's director, decided the factory original Countach wasn’t quite wild enough for the film, so it was modified by adding a new front spoiler with additional lights for night driving. In 2021 The Cannonball Run Countach made history by entering the Library of Congress National Historic Vehicle Register.
