"I did it for you" has gotta be my favorite form of betrayal. You gave me a gift I never asked for, and now I have to look around at the world you destroyed with the knowledge that it was gift wrapped and addressed to me.

You came to me millions of years back as a token of life. And in a way, meeting you again felt like it was snowing in the depths of my soul.
Now that I think about it, I've been wandering in search of your footsteps the same way a butterfly goes in search of nectar. I thought I had kept this desire locked within a vault in my mind the way you keep a flower pressed between the pages of that book. Now that I have looked again, this want, it has grown, forming roots.
Your love joins with the essence of my being the same way raindrops mix with the soil and the sunlight kisses my eyelids. The way love took shape within me was eerily similar to the way a tornado begins to take form and everyday, it flows effortlessly like waves on the seashore.
My admiration towards you shines bright through my eyes and so does the candle I keep lit for days on end, waiting for you. I will be the air you breath in and I'll keep you close as if you're my prized possession.
Watch each night turn into morning and each painful memory turn sweet. Your smile lights up my sky like the seven colours of a rainbow that never quite gets erased.
Through the window and the shadows on the walls, I'll make space for you in my story. I am but a gentle breeze that got lost in an alleyway as I went in search of your scent.
Every word, I speak of you, is a river of emotions. At every glance, you're nothing short of beautiful, just like the moon. The waves will sing of the way your eyes penetrate into mine as you search my mind.
Your love joins with the essence of my being the same way raindrops mix with the soil and the sunlight kisses my eyelids and it does so every day.
NOTE : This is not my work. It's just my attempt at translating a song from my mother tongue for funsies.
#it's a beautiful attempt bestie!!!!!#'i am but a gentle breeze that got lost in an alleyway as i went in search of your sent'#' it grew forming roots'#💛💛💛#writing#songs
