shower thought: the sheer popularity of cruel summer probably contributed in warping our perception of time, in that we still registered October/November as "summer" just because the song is kind of a subliminal supposed to make us think as such. therefore, january kind of felt like the very gradual transition out of the "long summer" known as late 2023 and its double whammy with the holiday season. february and march are "speeding up" to make up for the lost perceived time. (I predict therefore that the summer months this year might not be felt by most, partially also because of global warming)

that means taylor allison swift has the power to help warp (our collective perception of) time. what an artist.

so while brainstorming on why NDs tend to be gay/bi/pan/trans/NB/xeno etc, i wondered:

*can* sexual and gender identity diverging from what was assigned at birth emerge from trauma, especially childhood trauma?

some people would definitely want to put their past behind if they had a childhood that shattered, broke them, tore their beings apart, and sadly I'm in this community who seeks to abandon their past.

when other people's rules dominated over them.

when they had no say in deciding how they want to be.

and it does happen to anyone forced through the meat grinder of life, of the human race, for the most part, being evil in nature, but especially neurodivergent people, who everyone feels it's better off torturing.

so we want to abandon that crooked lifestyle, and establish more autonomy over ourselves. names, pronouns, genders that were used to nullify, defame, disparage us and we have to disassociate from those fronts and try to form our own separate sense of identity.

along the same vein, DID systems. especially those who tend to fit even less with the world, who have to change personalities like underwear at a young age, would stick to that familiarity, either because they are suited to it or they cannot escape, for one reason or another.

it feels kind of unfair that just because I was born differently, I have to fight very hard just to ensure survival, to get what others consider baseline needs, like mating, relationships, leadership, management, even when I space out so heavily or get so much sensitivity from a simple rejection. I want to have a future where I can sustain myself without worrying about being on a different wavelength than most, but embracing it. I want to detach from my current male, heterosexual persona and be a new person, free from the burdens of childhood.

no matter how you're finding your peace, you can do it. you're not lesser. you're not an idiot just because your reaction time is slower. you're not who you say your abusers are, no matter how much lovebombing they deliver, how much they praise or groom you. I'm with you. fuck society.
