        hands ran themselves through dark locks as a rush of breath suddenly escaped his lips, eyes closing as brows furrowed. he hadn’t meant to sound rude if he had-- he would never do that on purpose, and especially not to someone who clearly didn’t deserve it.

               “no, no, i-- i’m sorry, i’ve just got a lot going on right now. s’just stress, you’re fine, really.”

      he’s tried to give her space--- to give her time to accept things. he’d even gone so far as to try and concentrate on work and his band, but the stress of everything combined either had him sleeping too much or not at all. it almost seemed like she would never accept it and that he would be alone, family-wise, again----- that was until she showed up. now he was just unsure as to if she would snap at him again or not.

he’s overworked, overstressed, and exhausted– and yet, there he was still working on watching the door for people and simultaneously working on new song lyrics for his band, at least up until this guy showed up. maybe leo hadn’t forgotten, but lucas had for a few seconds before he was reminded of it, resulting in a sigh escaping his lips as he ran a hand through his hair. “—-look, man, i said i was sorry, okay? i don’t know what else you want from me.”
