“I got so many pictures at the puffin tour. I think i went a little bit overboard but they were so cute. I think i’m going to print some” she rambled on before looking up at the person. “Look at them and their little beaks.” @hshqstarters·

“They really are adorable.”, she mused upon looking at the pictures the younger woman was referring to. “My daughter did the same thing with pretty much every animal she asked us to see. She has a whole scrapbook filled with pictures now. The two of you might get along because of that.”

“And no one seems to be upset about that. Who would have thought that this is what it would come to?” Her eyebrow raised at his mention of making a bet. “Huh, I didn’t think you’d be morbid type.”

“okay, tell me what happened at the coronation. i’m so glad i skipped, if it’s apparently resulted in another death,” luca shrugs. that was all that seemed to happen these days, “and - i know you keep sending me stuff about tokyo disneyland but… i can’t, right now. i, um, i’ve got some thins going on with the girls. it’ll - i promise i’ll let you know?” as if that wasn’t cryptic and stupid. god, they’d spoken just a bit about telling people, and now here luca was, about to blow it the first chance he got. 

“Well, it was the first formal event that I brought Addie to so I now understand the struggle you have when bringing the girls. I had to go through almost an entire day of going around Iceland to make it up to her. It was fun though.”, Stefania explained, a quick laugh following after before realizing he mentioned the word death. “We just arrived here when I saw the palace’s statement. I did not see it coming.” Her eyebrow raised at the change in his tone but decided not to ask about it. Instead, she focused on the girls. “Don’t worry about it. Just let me know when it is convenient for you to go. Are the girls alright?”

“ i want to hear it from a reliable source, are the coronation capes as HEAVY as they look ?? “ he makes a pointed look at the man of the hour. “ i’ve always wanted to try one on, you know, for the hell of it. “

“You know, I never really thought about it but now that you mentioned it... yes, it actually is.” She doesn’t remember how she managed to act as if wasn’t anymore. “I still have mine somewhere. Remind me to lend it to you the next time we’re in Poland together.”

Arnauld D’Orleans:

he really did not need to be told that but he supposed as a fellow monarch, the queen of poland could feel more accomplished now that someone was doing so terribly. “ yes, prussia ! ” such an interesting and truly convenient turn of events. “ i am very curious know exactly what led you to go through with it. it was a risk. it must have taken some guts. ” he nodded at her and even offered her a polite smile. 

“It was and there is a possibility that we will have to pay the price one day but a friend was in need so I decided to help out.” Despite the other speculations made about her decision, that really was all there was to it. What Poland would get out of it came as an afterthought and maybe that wasn’t the right call to make at the time but it seemed to be paying off. “I’ve come to learn that some things are worth the risk.”

Ronan Cromwell​:

“I suggest the beastly political to be starved off until the king has been lowered into the ground for more than a few hours.” Ronan watched with a downturned frown. “I know the doors revolve quickly when it’s all said and done but a little tenderness in such a time of mourning for the family should be a given.”

“That makes you more decent than at least half of the people around here.”, Stefania said just loud enough for her companion to hear. She’d rather not be lectured about keeping her thoughts to herself again. “But if I what heard about their family is true, they might just move on faster than we would snd that says a lot especially if one didn’t know King Magnus personally.”

Outfit 004 & 005: King Magnus III’s Funeral & Prince Aleksander’s Coronation

Stefania Czartoryska arrived in King Magnus III’s funeral wearing an Alexi Mabille gown  then changed into one from Ralph & Russo for Prince Aleksander’s coronation.

Elyse Zollern:

“Oh,” she let out a breath, “where to start? I’ve been fine. Honestly glad that I’m not longer the biggest bastard in Europe.” Arnauld’s actions in Belgium made her look sweet as a lamb. Elyse huffed, “Nikolai, yes, we danced. He… He’s so annoying. Did you see that model he was with? I wanted to step on every one of his toes.” It was, she knew, an overreaction. 

“That is one way of looking at things.” It was a little funny for Stefania to think about how she was involved with the both of them in some way.  She really was happy that things seemed to be a little easier for Elyse now though. “I cannot decide on which aspect of her life I’d like to discuss first, the personal or the professional. Now that you mentioned that about Nikolai though, let’s go with the former. What did the two of you talk about? Ah, the German one. I did.”

Arnauld D’Orleans:

“ you could say that, ” arnauld replied stiffly. he curtly nodded at the queen before sitting down opposite from her. “ i have nothing to brag about, to be honest, ” arnauld admitted with a humourless laugh. his index finger scratched his jawline before he cleared his throat. “ my life’s been plastered on the newspapers, i think your news will be much more interesting. unless, of course, there’s something in particular you’d like to discuss…? ” he had a hard time believing that this was just a social call.

“Unfortunately. There has been a strong emphasis on how things have not been working in your favor.” Stefania figured that that was the price he had to pay for taking down the aggressive route but kept that thought to herself. “Well, I have been on the receiving end of quite a lot of questioning because of our involvement with Prussia but nothing has happened to us yet. I’m really just preparing for if or when that changes.” Upon hearing his question, it did not take long for the possible underlying meaning of his words to hit her. “I have not changed my mind about what we talked about if that is what you’re really asking.”

Stefania may have laid low in the international scene to work on local and personal matters but she still wanted to receive updates and boy, did the updates she receive surprise her. Some of those involved the very people she created a deal with, and that was why one of the first things she did upon returning to the program was arrange a meeting with the French king. Whether or not she was there as a friend was still a mystery to her as he arrived. “You have been busy.” Clearly an understatement. “How have things been on your end?” ( @vrnvuld​ )​

“I have so many questions to ask you and I don’t know where exactly to start so I’ll give you two. First, how have you been doing despite...”, she trailed off because what she was thinking seemed obvious already. “And second, was it Nikolai you were dancing before things transpired? I saw photographs.” ( @elysefz )

she merely grins. “ ah, that’s because you’d have to PRY him off of me. i don’t know why, but he doesn’t like to be away from me for more than a few hours. it’s almost an issue, but nothing that can’t be fixed with more hours with the nanny. “ it was becoming too easy to write off the disconnect as simple parent favoritism. “ oh GOOD. but fair warning: eloise will talk her ears off. i hope adrianna has a high threshold, or can at least wear her out. “ she jests. “ ah, no. my next engagement is a dinner meeting. “ she jangled the watch on her wrist to check the time, “ i have a few hours … i suppose i should get out to the city more. “

“Now, that doesn’t surprise me. Props to you for preventing it from actually being an issue! It does not sound like an easy thing to do.” Or maybe it was because Freja had a nanny for her child. She took that as another sign to find one for her own child, a sign that she wasn’t planning on following just yet. “I doubt that Addie will have a problem with that. She might actually enjoy it and even match Eloise’s energy.” It was more likely that Stefania was the one who needed a high threshold for situations like that and fortunately, she had it. “It’s perfect then! Can you fill me in on what you’ve been to while we’re at it?”

Arnauld D’ Orleans:

“ has germany given you a tough time ? i imagine the hohenzollerns aren’t very pleased with the way you snatched one of their grand duchesses. ” he ? he would have been furious. no words would have been able to describe the blazing anger such stunt would have ignited in him. “ have you had time to think about the ways you’ll minimize the economic impact ? ” [ ;; @stcfvnia· ]

“I was preparing for them to but I haven’t received anything but silence from their end. Do you think that is a reason for me to worry?” Stefania already did but it didn’t hurt to get a second opinion from someone who seemed to have more experience in the matter. She was still learning after all. “That is the next thing I’ll be discussing with my advisor. Why do you ask?”

Nikolai Von Essen:

“Well, I’m here now. Hopefully it can add some semblance of… normalcy? Although I’m not sure that’s exactly the right word seeing as it’s been ages since we’ve been able to have an audience like this.” He ran a hand through his hair before sighing. “Only time will tell, I guess. And yes, keeping to myself makes sure I’m in control of the situation. The situations just change dependent upon what else is going on. It sounds like you don’t think that’s really true.”

“It already has. I don’t remember you being the type to let things like that stop you. In fact, if memory serves me right, things like that motivate you.” Not to her surprise, he was able to pick up on her doubt and Stefania did not bother covering it up anymore. “Or you are just making it harder for yourself to actually be in control. Some situations require you to work with people for it to turn out fine, and this seems like one of those so you’re right, I am not sure about that. You have proven me wrong before though.”

Luca D’Ansembourg:

“i’ve only been accused of spoiling them three times this week, you included. i think that i’m doing better than before - now that i don’t have to convince them to share a bedroom, they’re getting less outright bribery,” he nods, as if that’s a normal or positive thing to say. the girls would always be spoiled, where their father was concerned. “ah, yes - one for the whole family. me, my daughters, the princesses of switzerland and italy and the prince of france. a great family photo,” that was the only one he remembered taking at least - the night after that had been a blur of fighting with henri, making up and then passing out before midnight. “no, stef, i read books when i was a kid,” luca corrected. television wasn’t really something that he was good at keeping up with - wren always tried to get him to watch tv shows and luca watched one episode and then forgot to finish it. “oh, good - they’ll love that. liza is obsessed with addie now, i think they’re best friends. that’s definitely going to backfire on us, when they realize they can come up with schemes together,” he sighs, a little dramatically, “i’ll send angela over with my schedule, we can get something together. you also have to promise to not post any embarrassing pictures of me. i couldn’t deal with my brother making fun of me on twitter again.” 

“You sound pretty proud about that. Is that one of your goals for this year then? Spoiling them less, I mean.” That was something that Stefania was incapable of doing at the moment and she had a feeling that that won’t change anyitme soon. Not that she planned on attempting to change it, she found no problem with spoiling Adrianna after everything that the young girl has been through. “I remember that while looking through the news one day. It was adorable. Did you plan it with any of them?” She laughed. “That’s a shame. I think you would have been entertained by it.” She and her father really were, their home videos proved that much. She attempted to convince Adrianna to give it a try but the more recent shows have done too good of a job at making the young Polish princess invested. “Addie seems to be the same way. She has so much to share whenever she gets back from their day together. If that will be the case, I think my karma will finally catch up to me after everything that I’ve put my parents through and I’m not sure if I’m ready for that.” But she would understand. She was a troublesome child once upon a time after all. “I can definitely do that but I can’t say the same about not taking embarrassing pictures of you. The opportunity is too good for me to pass up on.”

Nikolai Von Essen:

“Oh good. I was worried you would use me as an errand boy.” He added with a laugh. “I don’t doubt it. I won’t be ‘young’ forever and it’s only a matter of time before someone decides I’m either the perfect match for their daughter and a political marriage happens or I slip up on one of my dalliances or I fall in love. But let’s be real, latter two are the least likely.” He shrugged. “True, but at least while avoiding her I can guarantee things will always go my way.”

“That sounds tempting but I’d rather keep you as my companion on nights like this. Things are really not the same without you close by.” In other words, there was no one for Stefania to be her old self around other than herself so now that he was here, she was relieved. “Oh come on. I once said the same thing about raising a child on my own but look at me now. For your sake, I really hope that you’ll be proven wrong as well and that you'll genuinely be in love.” She scoffed. “Can you really?”

Henri D’Orleans:

“perfect! i’d be happy to.” he settled into the seat across from hers and flagged down a waiter for a spare menu, glancing over it while he listened to her speak. “that’s good to hear. i feel like i’ve been worried about half the people i know – so many were injured. i hope your daughter was alright?” thank god for luca; without him, henri wouldn’t know where to begin regarding the polish queen’s daughter. “oh, i’ve been well enough. settling into a new place always takes its toll, but i like tokyo so far. it’s been really wonderful to have my own kitchen again.”

“That’s an understandable feeling given everything that happened that night. I ended up the same way once my adrenaline stopped pumping. I hope that all the people that you were worried about turned out okay. “ Turning away for a while, Stefania gave the waiter her order and handed him the menu. She watched as Henri did the same. “It wasn’t the best start to her stay in the program but thankfully, she is fine now. Thank you for asking.” She smiled. “I am happy to hear that! What have you done so far? Hold on, does that mean you cook?”
