This is Wynn, the main character of this story. He is 17 at the start of the outbreak, a wolf from a pack (of different animals!), and has already experienced most of The Horrors by the time the apocalypse begins.

Before the apocalypse, along with Cyrus and Alynna, he is one of the gatherers of the pack, frequently going dumpster diving or breaking into houses to steal valuables to sell at The Markets. This is how the pack gets by. Outside of this, he spends a lot of time by himself, reading whatever books he manages to snag on the way out of the properties he steals from. He likes to climb the water tower at the edge of the city, which overlooks the vast forest known as Wildwood. He often stares out there in the hopes that one day Olivia, his missing sister (presumed dead), will emerge unscathed.
