Summary:

One night in bed, Colin allows Pen to read one of his more vulnerable journal entries, written after their conversation beneath the willow tree after their first kiss. It is full of longing and regret, love he'd thought he'd lost. It's all a bit overwhelming for them both.

Notes:

I listened to Nicotine Dolls cover of Peter Gabriel's song "In Your Eyes" and this fic just poured out of me. I have always loved the song, but the lyrics just screamed Colin and Pen to me in so many ways. I used some of the lyrics throughout this fic and I just hope I did the beauty of the song justice. This is from Colin's POV as I'm still stuck in his brain. I just love the complexities of his character and how he shows his emotions and I'm just living in that right now.
