Some important things to note:

Writer sign-ups close January 31. Writers provide the “source material” for creators.

Beta sign-ups close February 28. Beta readers not only edit their partners’ work, but provide support throughout the writing process

Creator sign-ups close April 30. Primary creators create art or a short story. Secondary creators create playlists, moodboards, edits, or anything that falls outside the primary creator requirements.

Please remember that BBB23 is���

An 18+ challenge.

A bandom event, meaning the focus of your creations must be on the members of a band, their close associates, and/or closely related content, like the Killjoys comics or Youngblood Chronicles.

Email and an Ao3 account are both required for all participants, and Discord is highly encouraged. These will be our primary modes of communication.

You can sign up for more than one role.

We encourage anyone who is interested to be involved, regardless of skill level. Remember that at the end of the day, we are all doing this for free and because we love it. You definitely do not need to be a professional to join!

Some fast facts about this year's challenge:

BBB 2023 is 18+.

Every writer is guaranteed a creation (art or fic) based on their work.

Works must be bandom-centric and uploaded to Archive of Our Own. They should be at least 20k words long.

why do ppl think gee has a big dick? especially in fanfic he always has a big dick? is there any proof of this or did everyone just go like 'yeah probably' and all agree to write him that way

because he just…….does. like i have NEVER in my life met anyone who has more trouble controlling their junk than gerard. this sparked the vintage mcr meme ‘starbuck’ who was the hamster living in the crotch of gerards pants. it probably came from a combination that he likes to stick his hand down his pants AND the fact that there’s literally always a bulge.

also: i once read a comment in response to a picture on an mcr message board in like 2008 that said ‘jfc is gerard packing the hand of god or what…’ and…that’s really stuck with me cause it’s fucking real. anyway. let’s have some examples:
