Enchantment healed his weary feet That over hills were doomed to roam; And forth he hastened, strong and fleet, And grasped at moonbeams glistening. Through woven woods in Elvenhome She lightly fled on dancing feet, And left him lonely still to roam In the silent forest listening. - The lay of Beren and Luthien -

Who led the Union of Maeðros?
This might be a dumb thought, but those are my specialty.
Obviously, Maeðros was in charge, but I wonder who led the vanguard?
I don't think it was Nelyo - he's too valuable as the main brain behind everything, and he only has one hand.
I don't think it was Cáno - he was busy with the cavalry.
Moryo was likely with the Easterlings.
Amrod and Amras are out - they'd most likely be with the Laiquendi, as they had the best relationship with the Laiquendi out of the SoF.
I doubt Nelyo would let Curvo do it - with Telpë gone, Curvo is their best smith.
That leaves Tyelco.
.....
Yeah, that actually kinda tracks.
The vanguard's job was to scout and secure what they could before the rest of the army arrived. That's something Tyelco would do very well.
It could be argued that Nelyo would have the Laiquendi do that, and therefore the Ambarussar would be in the front, but I don't think he'd do that. The Laiquendi, while skilled, would make for better scouts, messengers, and archers than a vanguard.
It could also be argued that the Easterlings would be the vanguard, and therefore Moryo is at the front, but I disagree. There would almost definitely be more Men than Elves, more Easterlings than Noldor, if for no other reason than that "Elves don't have kids in wartime" stuff that I think is incredibly counterproductive. Also, since Nelyo would be closer to the back to monitor the field, and we know Uldor nearly made it to him before Cáno slew him, that would mean his Easterlings were in the main army part.
So Tyelco is "in the van", as they say. @erendur we can prove your "Tyelco is a better driver than Náro" hc!
I imagine his brothers would have to wrestle him into some heavy armor. Literally wrestle. And not even into much stuff. Just some greaves, sabatons, and maybe a gorget or pauldron. Tyelco is allergic to being safe.
#Following this#I mean#Maedhros was the better driver until he lost a hand#Then someone had to step up#That someone was Celegorm

Something that's funny to me is how the fandom has decided that Ñolofinwë is physically stronger than Fëanor based soley on the fact that he fought Morgoth and wounded him, while ignoring that the only reason Fëanor didn't fight Morgoth 1v1 is because Morgoth was litterally shaking and crying while hiding in his evil castle at the sheer thought of Fëanor reaching him, so he sent like 10 Balrogs to deal with him instead.

A meme from that Avenger's scene.
I'm new in this fandom, not actually part of it just yet, and it's been ages since I last used Tumblr so I'm intimidated af. Please don't eat me.

One of the first posts that I saw when I came here was @goldcleaver 's one asking for someone to make this scene from The Witcher with him and Maglor. So, here it is

Redraws from a bunch of memes I had saved on my phone. I have like 5 More that I want to do, but I'm running short of patience.
(For not liking him, I sure draw Celegorm a lot... )

It's the Christmas sw-
asdffghjkklghj
This is amazing.
Eldest brothers having a well deserved break from all their siblings
(Maglor and Turgon are having an awful time. Specially Turgon).
My "Most likely to end up naked for no reason" ranking for the Finweans is Celegorm -> Finrod -> Aredhel
(posting this at 5am because something failed and I just noticed I never posted it)

I have a little hc that whenever Fëanor felt distressed or alone he started embroidering a bit just to feel his mother by his side for a short time.

I have had little energy lately, but I have the first draft of "Feanor meets Thorin Oakenshield and goes to have a deathmatch with Lobelia Sackville-Baggins for Bilbo's silver spoons" nearly ready.
Hopefully by next week I am gonna put up here the prologue.

I still think that Feanor and sons deserved a really good lawyer.
All that was necessary was to give him back at least one (1) Silmaril.
From a writer's perspective it is nice to have cursed objects to have the plot move, but from the character's pov... Not great.
"It's a big, bloody stupid [Silmaril] with a big, bloody stupid curse on it, and every time you decide to [keep it], something bloody stupid terrible happens !" Melian (probably)
I've made a serious post yesterday so feel like I deserve a shit one today !
For those who have both read the Silm and seen the series What We Do In The Shadows, don't you feel like there is a parallel between Doriath's Silmaril and Lazlo's cursed hat ?
For those who haven't seen What We Do In The Shadows (I don't know how to capitalise in English, sorry), this guy above (Lazlo) owns a hat that is made of witches' skin, and is cursed. Every time he wears it, terrible catastrophes happen (the Irish potato famine, for instance).
It is his most prized possession and he absolutely refuses to believe it is cursed, or to get rid of it. He also thinks it makes him look cool (see picture above).
His wife keeps trying to make him get rid of it, because it is OBVIOUSLY cursed, and she has some common sense. Hence :"It's a big bloody stupid hat with a big, bloody stupid curse on it, and every time you decide to wear it, something bloody stupid terrible happens !" (Nadja, Lazlo's wife, in the series).
Elwing, and the people of Sirion : "You know what ? We have a great feeling about this ! The Silmaril is totes bringing blessings to us and our houses and our boats. NOTHING could possibly go wrong. We're totally keeping it."
The Silmaril, which at this point is either directly or indirectly the cause of (at least) the death of Finrod, the destruction of Nargothrond, the death of Thingol, the fall of Doriath, the destruction of the dwarves of Menegroth, the death of Dior, the death of Nimloth, the death of Elured and Elurin, probably the death of quite a few others as well and has been cursed at least twice : ...
Melian, from Valinor : *facepalming*

Maedhros armor concept
Full outfit
Just the armor:
What he wear under it:
The whole picture:
I was working on the armor and concept drawing for @dfwbwfbbwfbwf and decided to give maedhros armor some special page :)
I based the armor on existing amor! (Henry VIII gold plated armor)
I know very fancy but maedhros was a king and is a prince so he must have some very fancy looking armor.
I added some stuff that is not totally realistic like the crown and the cloak part. But he looks great with that!
The gambersons is rather accurate and the stripes are not wonky but are stitched that way to help natural movement a technique often used in hand stitched clothing back in the day!
I did not drew a extra pic for the chainmail Hauberk but you can see a example from that in my Feanor Armor Concept
I also added on his handless arm a gauntlet that has notches for the kite shield. So that it can be easily attached and removed.
Things I would have preferred different is the chainmail Hauberk.(I didn't even drew a really long one) With full plate it is not necessary and can hinder movement but that's what dfwbwfbbwfbwf wrote in their promt
A normal chainmail shirt would have be enough ;)
